What time does your LO take their last nap? I have to keep a close eye on LO's last nap time. I pick her up from daycare around 5. She takes a nap normally from 5:45-6:30. If she isn't awake by 6:30, I wake her up. She goes to bed anywhere from 7:45 (if super sleep) and a late day is 8:30.

This has been our rountine since 6 weeks, and LO is now 14 weeks :)

The Healthy Sleep book says move it 20 minutes, then wait 4 days, then 20 more minutes, wait 4 days....

But then the book also says not to go by the clock, but to follow baby's cues......a little confusing.

I've also heard a suggestion of waking LO up after 20 minutes of last nap so baby is tired by an earlier bedtime.....but I am too afraid to wake a sleeping baby.

Still haven't had luck myself, but these are the two ideas I've heard.

We moved LO's bedtime up around the same time I went back to work. We were doing eat/play/sleep with the last nap in the evening and the last feeding around 9 or 10. LO fought sleep so ridiculously that I started "tricking" her into thinking it was already night sleep when she woke up from the last nap, i.e. no lights, no noise, very boring. Eventually I realized that we could skip that middle nap and go right to eat/play/eat/sleep. We have continued that pattern now so I feed her when I get home at 5, then we play and then I feed her again at 6:30/7 and she goes down for the night. Does that make any sense? I am not sure I am explaining it well...

My 5-month-old sleeps late. So I've been trying to move his bed time up and I was able to do it an hour earlier. It took a couple of days and being mindful of his last nap really helped. He's a pretty chill baby and usually isn't super fussy when he's tired. He was up from 6pm - 10pm tonight. That's a long time for an infant! Although, last night he needed me nearby when he fell asleep so that took an extra 30 minutes.

Start now. 20 minutes every night. We went through that a few months ago too. We just started bedtime 20 minutes earlier every night. We don't really have a bedtime routine, exactly - just pyjamas, breastfeeding in bed and then into her crib. We've always turned off the tv and turned down the lights and stuck to quieter activities in the hour leading up to bedtime.

I would try to do it slowly, like 15 minutes at a time.

M is 12 weeks old. She is falling asleep at 10pm now. When we were in Pensacola (cst) she was asleep around 9. I am going to die if I can't get her to go to bed earlier than 10 and then get up at 5:30 for work starting next week! How do I start moving her bedtime back to an earlier, more manageable time?
