I just bought a cloth storage box with a lid from Pottery Barn Kids and we smoosh everything in there and keep it in her room.

Ummmm I don't. DD plays with dress up too often for me to bother with hanging up the dresses so it all lives together in a big bin. I would like to get a toy chest or something with a top on it so it's not so cluttered looking in her closet but it's not a huge priority.

I am planning on making one of those dress up wardrobes for christmas (from an old dresser). But I'm also wondering how often things will actually get hung up in it. To that end I may put both a hanging bar for hangers and a bunch of command hooks that they can hang the dresses on themselves. In theory. And some baskets for accessories plus maybe small hooks to hang the jewelry on. Or a jewelry box.

Right now the dress up clothes are stored in the big garbage bag we packed them in when we moved. :)

Her closet has 2 bars and part of the lower bar is all her dress up dresses, she also has a cardboard trunk underneath the dresses. the trunk stores all the accessories and when she takes dresses off they get thrown in there and once a week or so i hang them back up when i put away her laundry

We have a mini coat rack that they can easily hang their clothes/hats/etc on independently. I wouldn't want to fuss with hangers because I think I'd end up doing all the tidying.

@mediagirl: We do this currently....and it absolutely kills the OCD side of me....but the practical side of me realizes that at least the kids can do it themselves, whereas if I hang stuff...it will be ME doing the hanging.

Following! We really don't have a lot so they're just hanging in her closet. I'd like to get a trunk or something too!

How do you store your LO's dress up clothes? A trunk? A hanging wardrobe? Something else?

I am considering putting all the "clothes" in a big toychest/trunk (we have a lot of items), and the accessories like purses, shoes, crowns, etc. in a drawer of a big IKEA wardrobe we'll be using for toy storage in the play room. I also have the option of putting a low hanging rod in this wardrobe, but I'm doubtful about how useful this would actually be.

Specifically, I'm wondering about dress up "wardrobes" - if you have a cute wardrobe for storing dress up items, has it been fun and helpful? Or is it honestly just a pain to have to hang up a bunch of princess dresses every day?

Thanks!
