I have them all in a drawer at home. I worry about losing my purse if I have them in there all the time since they usually cannot be replaced.

I just write on them with a sharpie. No shame in making them ugly :-) I also write $0 when I'm done with them since I occasionally forget to throw them out (or see them in the trash) and then get confused if there is a balance.

Btw many states have laws saying that cards < $x can/must be cashed out. In my state it is $5.

I have a small post it on the back of each one and write the total on it. Then scratch it out and put the new total until it's 0.

A lot of places dont accept giftcards if you can't pay off the entire balance with it, so for visa, mc giftcards, I use the ones with very little balance left at target. since they ask if you want to split it up among multiple cards. It's the best way to use up those pesky dollar and change balances!

I don't - I spend them lol! DH and I both have a really hard time saving gift cards for more than 1-2 weeks.

My friend just always kept all of them wrapped in a big rubberband in her purse at all times! I suppose you can be more organized about it and keep it in a small coupon/receipt organizer by alpha order or by retailer type.

We have so many giftcards, and it is hard to keep track and have them available for when we decide last minute to go someplace. Do you have a system?
