I have a very good method. (Except for the absolute most important things which really few things are) I take them and place them in the recycling bin. I then bring the recycling bin out to the driveway.

@LadyDi: I knooow. Tho I love Target and random finds on Amazon, TCS really has some of the best products! I've been thinking about getting one of their wall systems to organize additional paper too.

Browse container store

It looks like you just need something bigger so the papers aren't half falling out/sticking out.

Coupons and gift cards go in car and/or wallet. Photos either get digitized or framed or taped up somewhere. Preschool paeprs either get tossed (after writing down relevant info), hung up (like the monthly calendar) or filed in the "preschool" folder if it's needed. Mostly I try to act on papers as soon as I can and shred/toss them ASAP. That said my desk is currently covered in papers (i have a 4 week old, so I"m hoping to tackle that before everyone comes in for her baptism next week....) so take that with a grain of salt. But basically my goal is to file or dispose of everything as quickly as I can.

I have something similar to this in my catchall area. It's stackable and there's one per kid. I like that it's horizontal to lay down bc it looks like less clutter. I also have folders for certain things like coupons. This is my holding area for preschool/school papers, doctors office notes, etc. Most things are ruthlessly thrown away but sometimes you need reminders about things that cant be thrown away. For example, currently I have picture day info coming up for two kids in different schools, a doctor's note for an xray, coupons, and some odds and ends I have to eventually file. These odds and ends are usually tossed after a week or two. There's also a folder for general school stuff like handbooks, login info for our public school, etc that is kept there until end of the year but I can easily access it if needed.

At our house gift cards go in our wallets, coupons only stick around for 2 weeks (after that it’s pretty much guaranteed they won’t be used), stickers go in the craft drawer, and school papers that we need to keep go in a folder in the office (the bullions of worksheets get tossed). So basically we just toss things that won’t actually be used so there’s less clutter. If you have room somewhere maybe a hanging file holder with folders so you don’t have to actually look at stuff. Target has some pretty ones.

In my house, gift cards go in an envelope in the cupboard. Coupons go in a magnetic clip on the side of the fridge. Photos get pitched or stored with other photos. School papers get pitched, filed or put on the fridge (if they are for an upcom ing event).

Everything is is ruthlessly pitched or DD plays mailman with them and THEN they are pitched.

Stick it on a clipboard. It has a semi-permanent, uncluttered feel to it. You could always keep a list or photo album on your phone of your coupons so you won’t forget them. Or keep it in your car.

Can you get something like you currently have there, but one that hangs on the wall? You can hang it near wear you keep your mail.

Stacks of paper make me twitchy. How do you organize paper in your house? I have this catch all area that drives me nuts. It’s a mix of coupons, gift cards, photos, stickers, papers from pre school. I have a separate area for mail, this is just odds and ends. I don’t like seeing everything but if I get storage with a drawer I think I’ll end up forgetting about gift card and coupons.
