I organize my recipes like @jessiejo17. I have 3-ring binders with clear plastic sheet protectors. That way I can have my binder open while I cook and not splatter all over my recipes.

I use a photo album. I just cut out the recipes and put them in the little photo slots so that I can use it as a splatter-proof cookbook.

I just tear it out and keep in a folder. I don't organize it until I have made it and know it is good. And then I will store it online via Zip List.

@artbee: I still print them out when I make something but since I get "into" my cooking (i.e., messy) I like to be able to have a fresh copy if necessary. If the printed recipe is still relatively clean I keep it in a drawer for easy access if I think we'll use it frequently.

Everyone is so high tech! If the recipe is on my computer I will never use it. I guess I'm old school, I like to have it right in front of me on paper. It's kind of sucky because I miss out on a lot of internet recipes because I'm too lazy to print them.

I scan them and file them along with the screenshots from online food blogs. Keeps both sources well organized. There are a few good recipe organizers online but I haven't gotten around to signing up for any.

I have a Microsoft Word template that I use and just type the recipes up in that and save the files and organize them all electronically.

You could just put them in different folders if you didn't want to have to hole punch them all and do label dividers - I just bring them to work and punch them here, so its not so much work ;-p

@yoursilverlining: I did that for my mom, she had a whole basket of them and it was a big mess so I organized it for her like you said. I think I have to do it for myself too now... just didn't want to do that much work!

We keep our magazine and full page printed recipes in a 3 ring binder/notebook with labeled divider sections. Keeps them neat and mostly orderly.

I have a recipe box for recipes that I get from other people, but I don't want to have to write all the recipes from magazines on a recipe card (lots of them are front and back so I can't just glue it on) plus the recipe box is getting pretty full. I'm thinking of making a notebook or something for all of those recipes instead. I'm tempted to just throw them all in a box, but I feel like it'll be too hard to find what I'm looking for that way.

What's your system for organizing magazine recipes?
