You're doing all the things I do with my baby. She's 3 months as well. There really isn't much else to do. I am sure to always talk and sing to/with her. She seems to really like it. I love watchng her play on her playmat and grab at her toys.

When they can't sit by themselves, I think self entertaining (playing) is exactly what you numbered. Once they start sitting it becomes more fun because you can throw balls, or play with books etc. I wouldn't worry too much... at that age they get plenty of stimulation with shapes and colors and textures.

that sounds like fun to me! i also sit my LO on my lap facing me, holds his hands, and move them around while singing or making silly sounds or randomly giving him kisses on his nose and cheeks. he laughs so hard and loves it! my LO loves kicking too so i lay him down on a fuzzy blanket and letting him kick his legs and wave his arms like crazy and tickle him, he has a blast with that lol.

@Rubies: that's ok. Mommy brain!

My lo loves looking at the blinds. Seriously. She'll spend forever looking at the shadows and light. And if I feel like she's fussing because she's bored, we'll go sit out front. She loves the fresh air!

@Maysprout: that's absolutely precious!

No baby of my own yet, but when I'm with other babies I like just making exaggerated facial expressions and watching them react to them. My friends say watching me is like watching a cartoon, lol.

At that age my LO liked the stinky feet game the best, she lovessssss kicking so I'd play with her feet a lot, but she liked when I smelled or kissed her feet and then made a loud noise, which was usually "ohh, such stinky feet", my husband thinks I'm going to give her a complex, I'll have to change the words once she gets older.

You are doing what I did. Lots of singing and dancing around while holding, going outside and pointing things out and naming them, peekaboo, shaking rattles and other toys in his line of sight, etc.

@Andrea: You're so sweet for asking. She seems to be back to her normal self. I think it was the foremilk/hindmilk imbalance. Just too much foremilk (lactose/sugar)...She was sooooooooo gassy and fussy.

That is pretty much it! They just like to look at your facial expression and listen to your voice. They don't really "play" at that young age yet. Don't worry! How is she doing today?

My LO is 3.5 months old and sometimes (who am I kidding, ALWAYS!) I don't know how to play with her! She'll lay on her playmat and bat at her toys for a bit, then we'll do tummy time, then do the playmat again, then I'll walk around the house with her, swing her around, sit her in her Bumbo, sing songs, etc. But is that "playing"?

You know, sometimes I have no idea what I'm doing...SIGH.
