Probiotics are the only thing I've heard. So sorry to hear that you're going through mastitis. Hope you feel better soon and good luck keeping thrush away!

You can do vinegar rinses on your nipples too to help prevent the growth of yeast. I think there is a post on HB that recommends 1:4 parts vinegar to water. I am doing this now because both I and my LO are on antibiotics. I also take pro biotic capsules...culturelle is the brand. It says take one a day, but I take two. I don't think I have thrush...yet. we will see if it works. And I eat yogurt twice a day.

Oral probiotics. Talk to your pharmacist to find out the best brand/blend for you. Acidophilus is usually a good place to start. Don't forget to refrigerate the bottle of pills after opening it.

So I have mastitis for the second time, which I am sure is due to our recent travels, recurrent blocked ducts, and massive dehydration from the plane journey. I've just started taking antibiotics but am now worried about getting thrush. I've got some probiotic yogurt but am just wondering if there's anything else I can do to make sure we don't have to battle thrush next!

Anyone have any advice on how to keep thrush at bay? Thanks!
