@Mrs. Bee: I always hear the advice of "keep it short" or "just list three things" but I can't do it! My lists are a million miles long and I waste time making more lists!

I can commisserate on finishing up rooms...what I do there is keep a master notebook with all my house projects broken down by area.

I also keep a running shopping list and I basically devote one room per month.

I'd love some good tips. I'm constantly drowning in super long to do lists (both at home and at work) and I really struggle with prioritizing.

We use Wunderlist for big projects, general to-dos, shopping lists for different stores (Costco, grocery, home depot, and h-mart), and we even have a "Today" list that we move items to if we need to get them done today. It syncs on both our phones so we're always up to date. It has been awesome!! We used to use Gtasks but the syncing wasn't working very well.

I have different levels of "to do" lists. I have my must get done this week list, get done this month, and then sometime this year (usually house projects are on this.) We usually tackle the house projects before a party and we rush the 2 weeks before to accomplish them.

I have to-do lists for work, home projects, errands, things to buy, things to organize, etc. They're things I don't have to do right away (those go into my weekly planner), so they get left on the back burner for a long, long time.

For instance I need to finish up the kids' rooms (we've been living here a year), along with a bunch of other home projects. But I could always be working on work. In my free time though I want to have a little downtime too.

How do you decide what to tackle on your to-do list? And how do you keep your mile long to do list organized?
