Some (read: a lot) of people I think just don't hear the difference in what they are saying vs. what they think they are saying - and that's not something you can correct them out of easily. Yes, it's been frustrating to have my name miscalled/mispronounced more often that not - and my name isn't even "weird" or spelled weirdly!.
