When #2 was a newborn, I would set her in the swing. Later on, she would have tummy time in the room while I got DS ready for his nap. Other times, I would just hold DD while putting DS down for a nap. You just learn to use one hand :)

My toddler will be 2.5 years old when my next little guy comes along. I used to stay in my son's room until he fell asleep and then creep out. (otherwise, he'd cry and cry until either he'd not longer be sleepy or vomit). But with our impending baby, we've successfully managed to give him a 5 min warning and then just leave. He's been okay with that. (this is after we zip him into his sleep sack and read him 2-3 books. Then it's 5 minutes and mommy leaves).

My question to mom's of two...how did you put your first one to bed while caring for the 2nd? Where do you put the baby while you are reading the book to your older one? Was it difficult to manage both?
