Remembering I can't control circumstance, only my mind. So I do something to relieve the stress and put me back in the moment, clear my head. Walks, getting out, letting go mentally... just knowing that if I can get in a better space mentally the challenges won't seem as big helps me.

I usually treat myself to a smoothie in the morning or a breakfast sandwich and I put on my high school music playlist, it always takes me to a happy place.

you do something nice for someone. Like if I'm having a super craptastic day and a bad commute, I'll give money to the first homeless person I see. Or I'll open the door for everyone to go in before me. It reminds me that being in a bad mood is MY choice. It usually works.

I am trying to get away from emotional eating. But that used to be my go-to.

Music really does help me. Or sometimes a quick chat with my mom or someone I can kinda vent to. Once I get it out. I've even written an email to my self, kinda like as a journal, just to get it out and off my chest.

I'm a big believer in positive thinking, so I'll tell myself "this is the worst thing that's going to happen to me today, and my day is going to be better". (Like Monday morning, after E woke up in a tantrum, my hair dryer died and I slammed my finger in my car door).

Then I listen to upbeat music loudly in the car :)

I had an awful start to the day. Usually I compensate by treating myself to something I don't usually eat, and then I make sure to listen to some upbeat music. Or I'll take a walk and try to get some fresh air and mentally restart the day. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Could use some more strategies on this front! How do you recover if your day starts off badly?
