@PawPrints: some poop required the full brunt of the sprayer, so I loved the spray pal! Otherwise, I was also cleaning the bathroom after every poop diaper. 💩

We have the bum genius sprayer attachment and the spray pal from Amazon. We had a very small bathroom and this set up took very little space and worked great. We used liners for a bit but still had to spray off poop on the edges so we gave up on those!

@cheesetomywhine: So take this with a grain of salt because we've only had our sprayer for 24 hours and I personally have yet to use it (DH is LO's primary caretaker this month), but DH tells me that he has not scraped any diapers, and that the sprayer did not make a mess. I have seen a "spray pal" product online that exists to contain the spray so I guess some people have that problem, but DH said it was a pretty simple matter of aiming properly.

And he did say that LO "must have spent her ENTIRE afternoon nap pooping" because her diaper was so full, so, the sprayer was put right into the line of duty.

@PawPrints: just to clarify- you don't need to scrape along with spraying? My liners aren't flushable, so no clogging happening. Does spraying make a mess? Thanks!

I used a shower head and bucket for a few weeks of nasty poops until Bumkins liners changed my life! :-p I don't flush the liners and they go in our diaper genie.

The diaper sprayers are super powerful, much more pressure than a bidet. Also, those "flushable" liners are really not great for the sewer line unfortunately. I'd really recommend poking around in parenting groups to see if you can snag a sprayer that someone is done using.

@MrsYellowJacket: @Bao: silly question but what did you do with the liners? Just put them in a regular trash can? I ask because we just found them (DS is 18 months and goes #2 5-6x a day!) and it makes changes so much quicker! Before that I would just scrape the diapers into the toilet. That is what we did with DD but she wasn't a super pooper like DS. Anyways so far I've been putting them in doggy bags and then the trash but the smell is still nasty. Am I missing something?

Also- for the pet/diaper sprayer, does this replace scraping the diapers? Or do you scrape then spray? Thanks y'all!

We use something similar to @littlejoy: we went to Lowes to DIY a sprayer and then found a bidet sprayer attachment for the toilet on clearance.

OMG the hose! Ha I wonder what the neighbors think. We just faced this decision this past weekend, as LO is now eating enough solid food that her poop has changed consistency from EBF poop. I put up ISO posts on all my local parenting and Buy Nothing groups and within a few hours, three people had offered to sell me their diaper sprayers, and one person offered to give me hers for free. So I now have a free BumGenius diaper sprayer installed onto my toilet. Hooray! It seems to work great, though we've only used it on a couple of diapers so far.

The part of it that seems inconvenient to me is that our bathroom counter isn't big enough to serve as a changing table, so, we will always have to finish up changing LO, put her in her crib or otherwise contain her, then carry the filthy diaper to the bathroom to spray it, then carry it back to the nursery to dump it into the pail. Lots of carrying poop around.

We bought a "pet sprayer" attachment at Lowes. It was so much cheaper than a traditional CD sprayer. It was easy to install on our shower head, and the hose reaches to the toilet.

I don't always have to rinse but lately LO's poops have been making that a necessity every single time. I've just been taking them out to the hose and rinsing them there but that's not going to work this winter, and honestly it's gross and not ideal to do it that way anyway, but I was desperate!

How do you rinse out your LO's cloth diapers? I don't want to invest too much since she will probably be trained some time in the next 6-12 months.
