In the Midwest we "put it away". They also say to "put something up" meaning to put it away. But where I grew up we said "stand on line" and my DH laughs at me every time and says you should say stand IN line. It's always bothered me and I was reminded of it again today. My city is having a clean up day and the signs scattered around the city say "Chunk your Junk and Clean up CityName" I get that it rhymes in this case but it's so foreign to me.
