Thanks, all! I think part of the problem was that I wasn't even sure, aside form the obvious like SpringHill Suites, which hotels had suites. And I did do a search on vrbo. I guess another part of the problem is I don't know where is a good spot to stay, other than right in the downtown area, which is rather expensive.

I google that topic + city and see what pops up. Someone on some forum has probably asked that before.

Most of the time suites are not part of the inventory available on sites like booking.com etc. The easiest way will to pick a brand (Hilton, Marriott, etc) and search through their site. Most hotels only have a couple of suites in total, most are just standard rooms

We do what @T-Mom said - just look for specific places that specialize in extended stay or suite style rooms. We've stayed at Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites. We put her in the pack and play in the living room at night and we stay in the bedroom/bathroom area. During naps we put her in the bedroom and we stayed in the living room so we could go in and out.

Perhaps just try doing your search as usual on Hotels.com and then doing a name filter on 'suites'? Not a perfect solution... but it might help narrow things down a bit.

I sometimes search 'suites in x city' and that will pop up a bunch that at least offer suites.. then I go to kayak and see how much each of them are. It's definitely more of a pain to find a suite.

I would also suggest vrbo.com or airbnb.com. We recently booked a private condo on airbnb and it ended up being much cheaper than a hotel and it has a kitchen with a fridge, private parking spot, etc.

Ooh yay Boston!! :) Have you tried looking for extended-stay hotels? They are usually all suites with a kitchen, which is really helpful with a LO!

What about something like an Embassy Suites or Doubletree? Or a Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn type place? Those are the types of hotels we get now with two kids. They have living rooms with a sofabed, standard. The door doesn't close, but you can still watch TV/talk in the bedroom with some space between you and the baby?

We are talking about going to Boston for a long weekend later this summer. We would like to find a hotel with a bedroom area that closes off so that we can stay up after D goes to sleep. I've tried booking.com, travelocity, etc...but none of them enable me to search for a hotel with suites. Do I really need to go through every single hotel and look to see if they have a suite?
