She used to dump her food a lot, but it has improved with time. Key was her learning to say "all done" and handing us the plate with her cup and spoon/fork when she is done. Most of the time if we take it right away and praise her, she won't dump it. She has used them occasionally at my moms but she behaves completely differently for than me. At 16 months, she desperately wants to be a big girl and do everything herself, so she's pretty good with a bowl and spoon. She's also a voracious eater, so she doesn't want to waste food by throwing it on the floor. The tray has an attachment so we put her food on there and then put it on top of the the original tray. It's really easy to wash in between meals too. My husband tries a bowl every so often. I'd love an EZPZ because my husband seems to think it's "improper" to not have her using a plate and utensils.
