Usually I just go w/ styles similar to what I have worn and liked in the past. This time I went to a running store and was fitted since I'm pregnant and it's really important to me that I get all the support I need from my footwear. It was an expensive trip, but I now have super comfy shoes and insoles.

What are you going to be using them for?! That's a huge factor.

They shouldn't hurt, but shoes do need to be broken in. I would return them.

I get fitted for them at the running store. Also, if your feet hurt, return them!

I just bought a new pair! I stick with Asics or Mizuno's. It also depends on what type of exercise you do mostly (running v. aerobic). I chose the Mizuno's because it has a very flexible and padded heel and toe, and it hugs my foot. I do a lot of aerobic classes, so it's important to me to have that support and cushioning.

I went to a sporting goods store and did what you did - tried on every Asics/Mizunos they had, and then came home and bought the pair I wanted off Amazon for a cheaper price. I'll wear them around inside for a day to see how it feels and return them if my feet hurt after awhile.

I would return them if your feet hurt. Usually for me that's the signal I need new shoes.

I joined a gym and need new shoes - I tried on 5-6 pairs and walked around the store in them - picked one and brought it home.

wore them around the house for about 2 hours and my feet hurt - ugh! Wondering if I should return them or if it was just because it was the end of the day and my feet/legs were tired or what??

How do you pick a pair??
