I have showered with her since she was 2 weeks old. Shower snuggles are so sweet! Wh3n she was tiny, my husband would hand her in to me and then take her back so i could finish. Now that she is older, she can sit or stand at my feet for a bit while I wash.

The slippery part def makes me nervous!

I also feel like we like the water way hotter than what we have for her! But I would love to try it out as another way to get some skin to skin and bond with DD. And bonus that I'm garuntee to shower lol

I used the same basic method as described above, namely, hold on tight! :) We started really early, maybe a month or younger? I put the car seat on the bathroom floor, arranged a towel to cover it, and used that as the baby staging area. When I was done cleaning LO, I put him in it and wrapped him up semi-swaddle style. Then I got back in and finished getting myself clean. I think the best tip is to take down your shower curtain and just use the clear liner so baby can see you. Before we had a glass door, we had a tub and LO was not keen on me 'disappearing' behind the curtain.

I have always showered/bathed with LO. For the first few months before LO could sit up, I used one of these shower sling things. Baby lays in there and kicks the water to splash her/himself (DD and now DS), when I'm done showering, I wash the baby and rinse them off, (while they are still laying in the sling) and all done. I could never carry the baby while in the shower because I am terrified of dropping them.

I didn't start showering with my LO until he was standing. Too slipper before and he always loved baths. Now, we do it to save time - or if he's anti bath one night.

One thing I wondered - at what age, should you stop showering with your LO? A couple people I know were surprised that I showered with my son (he's only 21 months), but I don't understand that. I do wonder what age is the cut-off though

DH started showering with LO when he was about 2.5 - 3 months old, but it is always a team effort with both of us. DH will hop in the shower while I get LO undressed and bring him to DH. Then I wait right by the shower with a towel ready to "catch" him when done. I think it would be too hard without both of us there! And I'm definitely too scared to be the one who showers with him, He's too slippery!

I started showering with my youngest when she was maybe six months, and my youngest at two months. We actually threw out the baby tub bc I either shower with her, or now she's old enough to get a bath with sis.

I try to only shower when another adult is in the house, and sometimes I even ask my husband to be in the bathroom (but not in the shower) with us. I'm overly cautious. Baby's can be slippery! I make sure we have everything we need nearby, then jump in with her. She LOVES the water, loves getting wet, and throws a full on fit when it's time to get out.

I just make sure she doesn't get her face wet. There really isn't much more to it! I hold on tight, wash her, let her splash in the water, and we get out.

I have showered with my baby since maybe two weeks, she's now 4 months and this is still working for us. I lay her on a bouncy seat or on the floor with a blanket under/around her after I take her clothes off. I get in and shower and then pull her in with me. I get her wet and then pour a little bit of baby shampoo on her head and wash her hair and either her back side or front side depending on how I am holding her. I then flip her around and put some soap on her back or belly and wash that side of her.

When we're ready to get out I open the shower door and turn the water temp up really high in an effort to keep the bathroom nice and steamy warm. I wrap her in her towel and put her back in her bouncy seat and then get myself dry etc.

It sounds like a lot but once we found our rhythm it only adds maybe ten minutes tops to my routine unless she's in an awful mood!

We started at birth essentially. We had a large shower so I put him on the floor on top of a towel, put part of the towel over him so he wouldn't get too cold. Then I used our hand held sprayer to wash myself and shower. When he started sitting up we got a bath seat, and then from there he just stands. He is almost 4 and a shower pro.

At 6 weeks old he had a reaction to one of his shots and I put him in the shower and used the shower head to massage the injection site and he finished up.

I found it was easier to shower with LO. We did it when she was about 6 months? She didn't want to take a bath in the baby tub anymore, so a mom told us the shower secret. I would carry her on my side and use the free hand to soap her up. After she was done I would hand her off to DH and he would dress her and I would rinse off.

I didn't like to shower with him until he was like 14-15 mid and could stand. My husband took a bath with him from like 4m on and it was great bonding for them (though my husband did it for fun not to get clean).

I didn't like showering with LO until she could stand on her own. She would get so slippery that I hated only holding on to her the few times we had too (if we were in a hurry.) But honestly I just made sure we had everything ready: washcloth, soap, ect. and we rinsed her quick and got it done. She tolerated it, but didn't really get into showers until she was 2 or so.

I was reading an old thread about parenting tips & tricks and this seems to be a popular one! But logistically how do you do it? How old was LO when you started?
