Muffins with carrots inside the mix. I also still buy the pouches of squeeze food. Maybe I'll buy my own container so I can make my own, should be cheaper!

@banana: i was planning on getting the mint flavor. there are capsules too, but they're more expensive. i'm worried about them being too big because i can't swallow pills that well.

@Mrs. Bee: I bought the unflavored one and it was pretty nasty. It literally tasted just like oily fish. I still take it though because I don't want to waste it. I just eat it plain and then eat something sweet right after to wash it down. I tried it mixing it in yogurt or apple sauce but that made it worse.

I tried my son's Nordic Naturals one and it just tasted like a spoonful of oil with a hint of fish. Not too bad. But then again I don't really have a super sensitive palate so some people might think it's disgusting. My hubs didn't think it was too bad either.

A friend of mine bought the mint one (green pastures) and she said it wasn't as bad as the unflavored one but I've never tried it myself. Which one were you planning on buying?

I would buy the green pastures one and try giving that one to Charlie and see if he'll eat it (mixed in his apple sauce or something). And if he doesn't, you can always just eat it yourself and order the NN or Carlson's one for him.

@banana: yah the green pastures brand is the best. carlson kids also has a brand that is lemon flavored:

http://www.amazon.com/Carlson-Norwegian-Natural-Vitamin-Bottle/dp/B003B3P4PY/ref=pd_sim_hpc_2

i guess better to get them to take it than have them reject the bad tasting one!

i'm going to try taking the green pastures myself. is it really that nasty?

My LO *loves* pasta and sauce (she mainly just sucks the sauce off the pasta), and for the sauce I mix 1 part tomato sauce, 1 part pureed carrots, and 1 part sweet potatoes. It's a little sweeter than your regular spaghetti sauce, but honestly; it tastes pretty much just like spaghetti sauce! She loves it and she gets lots of veggies this way.

@Mrs. Bee: We use Nordic Naturals:

http://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Naturals-Childrens-Strawberry-16oz/dp/B004T7DYOO/ref=pd_sim_hpc_4

We tried giving him fermented cod liver oil but he wouldn't go near it (the Green Pastures Blue Ice brand). I don't blame him though. It was really disgusting! So we're sticking with Nordic Naturals since he'll actually eat it. We also give him toasted sprouted bread with grass-fed butter at the same time for the Vitamin K2.

@banana: ooo he eats his fish oil in apple sauce? i'm buying some fish oil now and i'm wondering if i should get the awesome, best fish oil there is but tastes like crapola, or if i should get the yummy-ish fish oil that isn't as great but the kids are more likely to eat.

what brand do you use?

@Mrs. Bee: Thanks! I like the opening on the top too. 6oz is ok. I'll just fill up two of them. :) I like sneaking in his fish oil in his apple sauce so I'll definitely buy some of these for him to take to preschool.

@banana: these are the ones i bought:

http://www.amazon.com/Little-Green-Pouch-4-pack/dp/B00AM5NTIS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363711883&sr=8-1&keywords=reusable+pouch

i like them because the opening is on the top, but i wish it held more. it holds 6 oz, but you don't want to fill it to the brim because it will spill. i guess these aren't really meant to be for a 3 year old's appetite. ;)

@mrs.bee: I'm looking for some good reusable pouches too. Do you recommend any?

Right now, she'll eat most, but usually we'll sneak them in through the veggie pouches. She devours them. I hate the fact that they cost so much, but, hey, if she eats it then I'm thrilled!

Shred carrots and put in tomato sauce. As it cooks it pretty much disintegrates into the sauce and you can't tell at all!
You can use the sauce for spaghetti, pizzas, etc

Olive eats a decent variety of vegetables (mushrooms, carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, asparagus). Charlie doesn't like veggies as much so I try to add them to other foods.

I tell Charlie when I'm adding veggies though, so it's not really sneaking it in. :)

- soups. We are a big soup house.
- smoothies -- Charlie loves green smoothies which means I can get kale, spinach, chia seeds, celery, and tons of greens into him
- veggie pouches -- Charlie is a fan of purees in general so giving him a veggie pouch is another surefire way to get him to eat more veggies. i just bought some reusable pouches so i can make my own pouches and send green smoothies to school.
- veggie pancakes - so easy to sneak in squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, etc.

How do you sneak in veggies? I'm writing a post and would love to incorporate your ideas!
