It's a natural behavior for them, so I try to have a couple kitty scratching boards/posts to use. Put catnip on them if they're not interested at first. Having two people definitely helps! You need to keep her from chewing them off for the first few minutes (obligatory snuggle time) then most should stay on for 4-6 weeks. You always lose one or two, but as long as most stay on it should give you the effect/protection you want. </p> <p>I love them for our older clients that have blood clotting disorders. We keep her nails trimmed short and often, but initially we used Soft Claws nail caps to keep her from causing harm to the furniture and the kiddo.
