@Rainbow Sprinkles: Pretty much regular stuff, although DH likes to get fancy cheeses too sometimes. I was just curious because cheese sounded tasty at the time. :P

@Pirouette: Yup I've read that before-- keep the plastic taste from leaching into your good cheese. But cheese usually doesn't last that long in my house anyway (as in, we eat it too fast, not that it goes bad!). If I get something really good, that's what I follow.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: nope, i actually never thought of doing that. but it does seem to stay tight without it. I think maybe we just use a bigger piece of saran wrap than the size of the cheese? we definitely do that with parmesan, since the block tends to be unevenly sized.

my friend worked in a cheese store and taught me the best way to wrap cheese is to take a small piece of wax paper and then put some saran wrap over it. We do that now, and our cheese lasts FOREVER!

Depends, but lately if we have a few things of cheese, we will put them all in a tupperware type container, still in their original packaging folded over the open parts. So, fewer ziploc bags to throw out. But you have to be careful doing that with stinky or blue cheeses since they can contaminate the rest.

@MrsBrewer: usually our bag isn't big enough to fit over the block (until it is half gone) so we put the bag over the top (the cheese wrapper still on the bottom half) and rubber band it air tight.
