I give them to my sister, who's baby is 14 weeks younger than D. And then she stores it, cuz her house is 2x the size of mine.

We put them in the space saver vacuum bags and then in totes. Then it all goes to our storage shed. Vacuum bags + totes means it's all stackable, so storing is easy.

right now we just use totes. once #2 gets here, we are going to see what she uses(#1 was a boy) and then we're going to consign/sell/handdown everything after that since we are done having kids.

Rubbermaid tubs, I really like the 10 gallon size. We keep them in the attic, NB-6m, 6-12 so far and a tub with toys. The bigger toys get wrapped in garbage bags and stored in the attic too.

I have the huge ziploc bags you're talking about. I kept them in my closet at our old house because I knew we would be having number 2. We were team green both times so a lot of H's stuff was gender neutral at first. When Em started growing, I went through the clothes and have been donating and trying to sell off items that I won't be putting her in/don't see saving for another baby.

We're crazy. We're going to have a number 3 eventually :)

I just started using the SpaceSaver vacuum bags- we do have a lot of storage at our house but I like the fact that they are airtight. They also hold a ton- I was able to put 6 months of clothes in each one.

I gave away/sold a lot of things since we lived in a small apartment the first year with DS. Now I use vacuum space saver bags and then stack the bags in large cardboard boxes. It's a good way to keep bugs and dust out.

I did 18g Rubbermaid totes. We have 5 of them full of her crib bedding, burps, bibs, sheets, blankets, and NB-12m clothes. Basically all the outgrown stuff from her 1st year. Thank god she has a decent sized closet.

I think I need to get some of those vacuum bags.

Everything lo has outgrown so far I've stored in plastic containers and kept them at my mum's house. The plan atm is to sort through them all when lo is about a year and sort out what ones I definitely want to keep in case we have another girl and what I can pass along to someone else who needs them.

i think totes are a great idea. we keep them in the pampers diapers boxes and i label by size/age. i like that the boxes are smaller -- seems easier to deal with, imo (but cardboard boxes aren't the best idea for storing clothing...).

i also purge like crazy before i store them -- i only store stuff that he actually wore, and so therefore means i actually liked/was functional for us :) no use in storing stuff that we dont like/won't use!

DD is only a year old and I already have a big bin full of outgrown clothes, and a huge growing pile in her closet. I'm thinking of getting some of those huge ziploc storage bags instead of buying more bins that I'm not sure we have the space for. How do you store your outgrown stuff? I don't want to get rid of it yet in case #2 is a girl too!
