I also froze the lansinoh bags flat and then fit about 14-15 bags in gallon ziploc with the dates. Then I would pull from the oldest bags when I thawed. I tried other ways and they didn't work as well. Definitely put in your deep freezer if you're not going to be using it quickly.

@singingbee: I have one box that I am filling and one box that I am am thawing out of in my kitchen freezer. When the box I am filling is full (maybe 10-15 bags, not really sure), I move it to the deep freeze. Each time a box I am thawing from is empty I take the oldest from the deep freeze and put it into the kitchen freezer.

I froze the bags flat and then put 10 bags into a gallon sized ziplock with the dates on it. This way everything was pretty easily sorted for me.

They say it's good in the deep freeze for 6-12 mos but the fridge freezer for 2-3 I think

So I should probably store the majority of my stash out in the deep freeze since I won't be accessing it each day? Maybe keep just a week or two's worth in the inside freezer?

We have a Keurig coffee machine and I discovered that the k cup boxes fit the Lansinoh bags perfectly. So we have a deep freeze with k cup boxes lining the entire bottom and occasionally stacked.

We put the each month's frozen bags in those cloth grocery store bags, the 99 cent ones and organize them that way. We tried gallon ziplock bags but it felt like a lot of bags that way so we just tried this. So far we like it.

I transfer frozen pumping bags into a gallon ziplock and I arrange by date in my deep freezer.

Yourr deep freeze will be colder than your freezer. If it has a temperature dial just set it to the coldest. I freeze mine flat in bags then line them up in a plastic storage container that can fit about a dozen or so

@singingbee: Haha our deep freezer is full of BM and nothing else. What do you mean how can you make sure it's cold enough? I assume your deep freezer is colder than your regular freezer?

I used plastic bins to put my milk in (these: http://www.sterilite.com/SelectProduct.html?id=442&ProductCategory=179§ion=1). They were about shoebox size and I could line the bags up on their sides and get ~18-20 bags in each one (I froze 4oz in each bag) Then I labeled each bin with how many bags and the dates with a post-it closed in the lid. I EP'd and actually bought a small chest freezer for all my milk. In a deep freezer milk is good for 6-12 months...depending on what website you look up. I always made sure to move my frozen milk to the deep freezer within a month of being pumped (or whenever I filled up a bin). The main thing is to keep your milk in the coldest part of the freezer to make sure it stays at a consistant cold temperature.

I did a search and didn't really find a post that answers my question to the extent that I want it answered.

I've been freezing the milk I pump on the weekends and Fridays. I store in the Lasinoh bags and now it's in our side by side freezer compartment. The BM is taking over the freezer and I want to move it to our deep freezer. How do you recommend storing it? How can I make sure it's cold enough (I'm sure it probably is, but I get paranoid about these things)? Anything else you recommend? Lo is almost 4.5 months. Short term goal: 6 months. Long term: 1 year+.
