I do it just about every week, 4 nights, since DH gets home after she is asleep. Some days it is ROUGH and then I am glad that I have to go to work the next day

A few days. However, DH usually leaves before LO wakes up and gets home after he's asleep, so if you consider that solo parenting, I do that 3 - 4 times a week.

I did 2 weeks once while DH was at training. I've done a week here and there while he traveled for work. Do what's easy for yourself--order takeout, skip a bath. Whatever you gotta do.

DH travels 1-2 weeks a month for work, but I only have 1 LO, so it is a bit easier than managing 2. I prep as much as I can the weekend before he leaves (make sure all laundry and dishes are done, food is prepped for 2-3 days, plenty of groceries, etc.) and don't do things that I don't have to do like baths unless LO really needs one. The main issue for me is that the nanny share starts at 7:15 (earliest the nanny can do because she has to drop her kids off at school) and my office starts at 7, so I am usually an hour late for work and I can't stay late because I need to pick LO ontime.

Hmm, most week days it's a crapshoot whether DH will be home before DD's bedtime.

While I was on maternity leave he went away for a month for work, but DD and I went to visit him for the 3rd week.

Ugh. It's hard! The longest I've had to look after two of them alone was for 4 days. I had to be organized and mentally prepared to always be the care giver. I'll admit, lots of cartoons helped to give me some down time.

I do it 4-5 days a week, and it's hard, but we survive. I do a lot of crockpot meals and leftovers, choose only one room or area to clean a day, and pick one naptime to get chores done and veg out the other nap time. I also take him to the gym so we can get out of the house.

The sweet part is how excited they'll be when he gets home. It's super cute each time my LO sees daddy :)

My husband has traveled for a few long weekends, but I only have 1 kid, so it's much easier!

Honestly, the only snag I ran into was daycare drop off, since last year, LO went to a daycare that didn't open till 7, but I leave for work at 6:40. I had to get special permission from my principal to be 20 minutes late to school for 2 days and the rest was the weekend. Other than that issue, the rest was easy-peasy.

The longest stretch was a week on a few different occasions because my husband was away for work. It would be easier if any family lived near by, but I survived and honestly it wasn't too different than the day to day since I am a SAHM and even when my husband is home at night/weekends I do nearly all of the childcare and every nap/bedtime/overnight, so I am used to it. I kept about the same routine as usual besides going out for activities more since I had the luxury of having the car all week (we only have one car so usually I don't have it unless I drive my husband to work). There was one time he went away though in February when my daughter was 7 months old and he took our car so I was stuck at the house for a week.. that was miserable but the weather was bad anyway so I probably couldn't have gone out in all the snow and ice anyway.

8 days during my last maternity leave. Easy meals and less cleaning for the win! LO 1 was in daycare PT at that time so I had 3 days of help.

Three weeks. I WOH though, so our continuous time together was about 48 hours. I made sure we got out of the house at least once per day (not including walking the dog) and cooked/ate really easy things.

I am solo parenting from 5:00am this morning until 6:30pm tomorrow at which point the girls will be in bed, and then DH will be gone again until late Wednesday night. That's the longest I've ever cared for the girls on my own before. Definitely could be worse, it's not too terribly long but I'm hoping I can make it through without too many meltdowns. We have a lot going on right now just hoping these next few days can stay stress free!

What's the longest you've had to take care of your LO on your own? Did you survive ok? :)
