No family nearby, unfortunately. DH can sometimes work from home to give me a break. I have a pretty good network of friends, if I really needed it I'm sure one of them would help out. When DH and I both got the stomach flu at the same time they brought us groceries!

I was sick with a stomach bug yesterday and DH took over. When DH is out of town his parents have helped out although they are not able to fully take over due to their own health issues. So if it were really, really bad we would have to ask my mom to come over who lives 1.5h away.

My parents are nearby but both still work so I don't think I'd ask for their help unless DH and I were both really sick. DH has been sick this week so I've been doing most of the child care, and if I'm sick he does most of it. Luckily neither one of us travels for work or works at night/on the weekends so it's not too bad.

Yeah, I could never survive without my mom. She's been coming to pick up DS the past few mornings (I usually drop him off at her house) and then keeping him late so I can rest. My IL's are non existent so they are no help but thank God for my mom!

Feel better soon!!

I had a violent stomach bug Friday and was OUT Saturday and Sunday. Could barely get out of bed. DH took care of everything and we luckily have a next door neighbour DD loves visiting. They will usually help out by having DD go over for a couple of hours.

All I could think of was how lucky I am to have DH since we have no family here to help!

We don't have family nearby, but the TV has helped a lot when I've been sick. Usually I get sick from something DS brought home from daycare and he is sick at the same time

On more than one occasion I have called my mom to come help. Thankfully, I have only been really sick one day and it was on a Saturday that my mom was already planning on coming over. She took care of DD while I rested all day.

DH, then my mom! There have been mornings when I had horrible migraine and DH had to take over.

One time, I had to pick DD up from from daycare for being sick, but then I was really sick too, so I called my mom in to help.

Feel better  I always say the hardest part about parenting is no sick day!!

ugh I'm sick too! :crying:
Fortunately my husband has been off the past couple nights, so I've been going to bed early and he's been doing nights with J.
When he's not home I usually do a movie night so we're in our PJs early and I can rest. Lots of takeout those nights too.

Feel better!

It sucks big time. Usually, but not always, Dh can at least come home earlyish then work from home, so he can at least help with bedtime, but that's it. No family nearby. We end up watching so much tv. I was fighting off the stomach bug that the toddler had and it was rough, but at least he could partially relieve me for part of the evening. I wish my parents were closer.

I thank my lucky stars that we are near both of our parents. I was bed-ridden, with chills and fever and a horrible migraine due to congestion the last couple of days and there is no way I would've survived without our parents' help.

DH can't take off work right now and of course he's in the thick of his late nights, so he's pretty much just home to sleep. So my mom came over took DS1 to school while I was with DS2 and let me sleep most of the day. Inlaws were planning on coming over anyway, but it worked out that they were able to come help my mom with our kids too. And MIL made us dinner.
