I do love this high chair but hate when I still haven't cleaned off the tray and take it off to put in the sink--I rip the tray off and good flies everywhere! Ah!

I mean, I know how to do it, including pulling the clips up. But mine is still obscenely hard to get off. It's a real pain in the ass. I think some must be tighter than others, because so many people seem to share this view that its the best thing ever.

@lemondrop: ya i think the way you described it is what i finally figured out! I've tried many other ways before I finally wrote this post though and then i just did it like 30 mins after posting, lol. And good call on getting a second tray, it's so cheap so why not! better investment than the cushion, lol.

lol, I actually don't think it's too bad. Facing the chair, I put my foot on the front left leg to hold it down, then I put my left hand on the right inside clips and pull them out just a bit while lifting up the right front corner of the tray with my right hand, from there it pulls up pretty easily and I might need to pull out the left inside clips just a bit to pop the whole thing off. Maybe I should make a Youtube video of this?

I do recommend buying a second tray, just in case one breaks or so you don't have to wash the other right away.

@sarac: so weird because when i was reading reviews on it, all i heard was how amazing it was - everything you need for $30!

Well, i think i actually got it off without too much "force". I'll have to try again to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I plucked each of the 4 prongs one at a time, but after each one, i was using my other hand/arm to hold the tray up so it didn't snap back in and then it seemed to come off pretty easy - relatively speaking of course. Hopefully I can do this again. I'll try to remember to report back after a few more tries.

@travelgirl1 i know you have this chair - any input?

Nope! It's a badly designed POS! I use brute force and a lot of nasty words muttered under my breath. Over time mine has gotten easier to pry off, and I've gotten better at the specific way I need to curl my foot around the leg to get purchase enough to pry. I wouldn't recommend this chair to anyone!

Hahahahaha. We don't. We tip it over the sink and clean it that way. :-)

I can't seem to find an easy way to do it. I've googled it too and it seems I am not the only one. In fact, the most helpful response was to use "brute force"!

I was wondering if any bees had any secret tricks to removing the tray for easier cleaning?

ETA: oh and out of curiosity for you those of you bought the cushion to go with it (I did, it was $5, so i thought "why not?!") - do you actually use it? It was a waste of $5 IMO. I used it once, and had to toss it in the laundry of course, so now I never want to use it because I don't want to create more laundry and L seems fine without it, so I've stopped pretending I am going to use it at all.
