The problem here is that people are allowed to shoot fireworks in the city that night and it sounds like a war zone, so it scares him and wakes him up. We don't plan on doing anything special that night (just another night in parenthood :happy: ) but of course we want her to know that it is an event. How do you explain something like New Years to a young child? Do you just let it go until they are older? Tell them that people celebrate the start of a new year and leave it at that? Have a big celebration so they feel like they are a part of it? How do you explain New Years to your littlest ones?
