HOME: we have no plans to move anytime soon. We are in the process of a huge purge and reorganization of our house to make better use of our space. The playroom was reorganized over winter break. We got rid of the bed frame and ordered a Murphy Bed for our guest room and moved the upstairs tv in there with a new couch. I love it! It used to be a office/guest room but now our home office is moved across the hall and now that room is an exercise/office room. It just works much better now. LO is getting another bookshelf in her room and the nursery is being cleaned out (it's basically a storage room right now). We have two overhead garage racks but are adding two more for more storage. Then all the closets and cabinets will be purged and reorganized. 2016 is the year of having a cleaned out and organized home! It's our New Years goal to maintain the organization throughout the year!

RELATIONSHIP: in a really great place and I'm always so thankful for that. We know each day we have with each other is such a gift. Our goal for the new year is to be more present with each other.

KIDS: LO just turned 4 and it is such a fun age! She's at a great school and loves her teachers and friends. We are doing our embryo transfer next week and are very hopeful and excited. LO is very excited to add another baby to the family too which I love.

FAMILY: both sets of parents are retired now and are so helpful. We are noticing that they just seem older now and worry about their health but all we can do is encourage them to take care of themselves.

I'm really excited about all the things we have coming up this year.

HOME: Nothing huge planned right now. I'm going to consider this year a win if we don't have damage from snow and ice like we did last year. We bought our current house in July '14, and there's still a lot of things to buy/do for it. Some rooms need window treatments, I want new outdoor furniture, I also want to paint and replace carpet, and we need more seeing in the back yard. We won't do all of those things but it might be nice to tackle one or two.

RELATIONSHIP: I think we're in a really good place right now. DH is amazingly supportive and I'm glad every day I get to live my life with my best friend.

KIDS: DS is two and just keeps getting more and more adorable. He has his off days, but generally he's so sweet and funny. We're also adding a second LO in August and I'm really happy to complete our family. I'm really looking forward to having an August baby and so excited for the timing of my maternity leave. And policies changed at work so I get a paid 12 week leave!

FAMILY: I wish we lived closer to my parents. They're so helpful with DS and they're going to stay and help us with LO2 also, which I'm really grateful for. My ILs tend to drive me up a wall, but I've resolved to try and care less about what they think and just do what I want.

HOME: we might be putting our house up for sale...we're running out of room!

RELATIONSHIP: I think there will be some challenges but I hope we can stay strong and support each other!

KIDS: adding one more in August. They're all pretty close but I hope they calm down a bit (mostly my oldest)

FAMILY: I hope to be closer with my sisters and take care of my parents more.

HOME:
Our home is small but I love it. I would love it even more if we could organize, declutter, and I could get into a good cleaning routine. A few small projects, maybe some closet renovation, change a few things in the bathroom. Work on the yard definitely. Start planning an expansion for next year possibly? Vs selling and buying a new house.

RELATIONSHIP:
I need to appreciate my husband more and show it. I want to support him in a possible career change. We actually just got married on December 17, so I need to make our relationship a priority in busy life with a one year old!

KIDS:
I hope I can enjoy every minute with my one year old. I can't believe the first year is done, what a crazy blur! He's such a joy to me. I want to be very present for him and ditch the phone. Currently working on improving his solids intake with healthy yummy well rounded meals. And trying to be more consistent with naps and bedtime in his room on the floor bed.
Possibly we might start TTC in the fall for a 2.5 year age gap. Not sure yet! Leaning towards waiting longer but I go back and forth.

FAMILY:
My family: showing my appreciation and making time for them. I saw someone above mentioned reverting into sullen teenager mode... I am so embarrassed to say how bad I am about that particularly with my mom. So excited that my sister and her husband are moving back to California! We are hoping to visit them before that, and I also want to visit my other sister in New York since she's only there a few more months.
MIL: I am gonna really focus on being much more compassionate, patient, and loving with her. The things that drive me so crazy about her are so small and I need to suck it up. She means well and someday I might drive someone my son loves crazy!

HOME: We have a few projects we want to tackle this year... like a fresh coat of interior paint, and getting brand new carpet. It's going to be a pain, but I need to stop putting it off!

RELATIONSHIP: Really great! We have a deep friendship, and he's just so understanding, thoughtful, and kind.

KIDS: They're growing so fast. Turning 3 and 5 within the next month, and DD will be entering Kindergarten this year - where did the time go?? They do need to work on those listening skills though!

FAMILY: Pretty calm and even keel. Nothing new to report! But no news is good news. :)

HOME: we rent an apt, so there shouldn't be too much change in our home this year--our lease goes through June and I'm sure we'll renew it unless something crazy happens. I'd like to organize and declutter a bit, but that's an ongoing challenge.

RELATIONSHIP: I think our challenge is always not taking things for granted/showing appreciation.

KIDS: Lo will be 2 this year! She's such an amazing, lovely little person, I love being her mama and watching her grow  we'll be ttc #2 sometime early this year....hoping to welcome a new little one this year as well!

FAMILY: this is where the real difficulties lie for us this year. fil passed away last month and that's been really hard on dh. not to mention, boundary issues with mil that I feel guilty about even considering bringing up with dh much less mil when things are so fresh

Home: I'm apprehensive about our renovations planned for this year. We just spent a ton last year on window replacements and although I literally can not wait to gut our kitchen, I have a feeling it will cost a lot more than we've anticipated. It'll be an extremely busy semester at school for me and I know I won't be able to dedicate more time on other things.

Relationship: Although I'll likely be very busy, my schedule for the upcoming months will be a lot more stable. I really hope that the added stability will lessen my stress - it's been crazy these last few months and it's taken a toll on our relationship.

Kids: I hope DD will continue to thrive. It's such a blessing to be able to see her grow into a mischievous little preschooler.

Family: We have no plans in expanding our family. For once, I think we're happy where we are and do not want to tempt fate by trying to add another. We're good  And it feels so nice to be able to plan ahead without adding any what ifs into the equation.

HOME: FIL painted the entire interior for us the last couple of months! We'll probably do a few minor adjustments, before ultimately listing it for sale! We want to find/build our forever home in the next few years in the town west of ours right now.

RELATIONSHIP: we're in a really good groove right now. DH has been proactive about "speaking my love language" and overall we're just in good balance with all things work/family/life.

KIDS: 3 yo & 6 mo and growing like weeds! It's been so so sweet to see their bond grow and grow. DS1 has been talking our ears off and growing leaps and bounds socially and intellectually. DS2 is seriously the chillest baby ever. We might be going for baby 3 solely based on him being such an "easy baby." :P

FAMILY: Everything is chill. Even the crazy drama causing aunt has been chill. I hope it stays that way.

HOME: we love our home. Depending on other factors, we may move but I'm not banking on that. We will paint and maybe replace the floors this year.

RELATIONSHIP: Keep up the good work. We've had a fantastic second half of 2015 and I want it to continue.

KIDS: I applied to get her into a different preschool for 2016. We'll see if that happens. If not, same daycare and start applying for 2017 schools. I've already applied for 2017 private school to get on the list if we don't get into the charter and don't move.

FAMILY: Same ol. Visit the parents. Try to figure out what to do about the estranged sister in law and her kids.

HOME: we finished building and moved into our house at the end of 2014. 2015 we had a few large projects (made over the garage, playroom, mudroom, family room). This year we don't plan on doing anything with the house. Our hope is to pay off our mortgage so we can be 100% debt free.

RELATIONSHIP: We're celebrating year 7 in 2016 and we're really happy and crazyyyy in love

KIDS: DD starts Kinder in 2016 and we're finishing up applications this month. DS will be starting preschool this year too. My kids are growing up fast!! They're both at a super fun age and all is well.

FAMILY: We have a wedding in the fall and my BIL and his wife are expecting their first baby this summer. Exciting times!

HOME: DH and I are planning on some major DIY renovations (aka, attempting to finish the basement to a degree where the kids can play down there). Also, a major decluttering of the basement and garage, and of "stuff" in general.

RELATIONSHIP: We have been making some big strides in communication, especially about finances. I'm hoping this continues. Also, definitely hoping for some more date nights!

KIDS: DS2 will be turning 1 in July....which means we'll (ok, more like I'll) be pushing for TTC again. As for the kids we already have, we'll be potty training, but other than that, I'm just looking forward to my boys growing together.

FAMILY: Less IL drama......that's a lot to ask for :silly:

HOME: We have an older home, so the to do list is endless! But hopefully not too much that HAS to get done in 2016 (like something big breaking down).

RELATIONSHIP: we each have a LOT potentially going on in 2016 (careerwise), and just thinking about it all makes me nervous that we won't get a lot of quality time together. but we are going to need to support each other through a lot of change, and that's always exciting!

KIDS: exactly like @Silva: we will hopefully be adding a sibling for LO in August! and LO will be starting preschool in the fall! EEEK!!!

FAMILY: Hoping to complete our family this year

HOME: Small projects around the house but nothing major. Working towards saving for a bigger home, but we don't plan to move for another couple years.

RELATIONSHIP: We're good right now. Just want to keep up the date nights. I'm sooo happy we finally have a consistent babysitter.

KIDS: Toddlerhood is trying, but also really fun, so I'm trying my best to enjoy the ride. We've been TTC #2 for awhile so I'm hoping LO will get a sibling this year.

FAMILY: Hoping it is a pretty calm year for everyone. We are on good terms with everyone but there have been some health scares on DH's side which have stressed everyone out. I hope this year is better for the people involved.

HOME: our goal is to be out of house in 2017, so 2016 is preparing it for selling and making necessary updates to get the most bang for it. Hopefully we find a good move in ready home in our desired area before LO starts school in the fall of 2017 (kindergarten) otherwise we might have to resort to renting to be in the school district.

RELATIONSHIP: We both decided 2016 was all about each other and our family. We want to spend time together and eliminate extra "stuff." this year is about eliminating financial troubles as well.

KIDS: Spending time with them and being "present." We've implemented the "phone basket" for our evenings together. The phones go in the basket when we get home, and we can get them out after the girls go to bed.

FAMILY: We want to move closer to family, not that we are "far" away now, but we want to be in the same town as in laws so DH can help with farming and my parents then would be closer as well (15 minutes instead of 30)

Home: We've been in our apartment for almost three years and genuinely love it. We are hoping to move back to our home state in the next two years (preferably within a year) so we will continue to rent. Just working on purging our things and organizing.

Relationship: DH and I are doing really well. We haven't had a real out of the house date since DD was born but we make it a priority to spend time together at home.

Kids: DD recently turned one and she is a complete blast. I love that I get to stay home with her and I am really looking forward to doing more activities with her this year and just seeing more of her personality come to life. We are still undecided on a second, but that we wouldn't start trying for at least a year anyway.

Family: We live about 2.5 hours away from most family. We miss them and try to see them as much as possible. When we are able to move home we hope to be less than 30 minutes from all of our parents. I really look forward to that.

Overall I think this will be a great year.

RELATIONSHIP: I think we really have to prioritize our marriage this year, since we've done and over with LO's 1st year of life aka the hardest year. We need to really make sure we're solid before TTC #2!

KIDS: We plan to TTC this summer/fall for a 2.5-3 age gap!

FAMILY: We really want to travel overseas so DD can meet her great grandmother!

HOME: We're finally getting around to organizing and putting our office to use! We're about 90% done with the build out and I'm so excited with the way it turned out! We want to slowly tackle other home projects since the office gave us a bit of a kick starter, but we'll see how that works out with a new baby on the way.

RELATIONSHIP: DH and I are in a good spot right now. He's been more helpful in the care of DS, but I could/should definitely dote on DH more. I sometimes get too comfortable with status quo and forget to tell/show him I love and appreciate him so much. I need to work on that!

KIDS: DS is 2.5 and is in the throes of learning and understanding so much right now. I love it!! We're expecting DD in March and while I don't look forward to the every 2-3 hour MOTN wake ups, we're excited for our expanding family. DS loves babies, but I'm nervous to see how he'll take to DD since she won't "go away" after a few hours, and he will no longer be the only child.

FAMILY: My family (or rather, one member in particular) has always been a bit loco and this year doesn't look any different. If anything, it'll probably continue being worse. There's talk of remediating some of it, but we'll see how things pan out.

HOME: we bought our home in March and have slowly been making it our own. Hoping to do some painting and updating this year!

RELATIONSHIP: our relationship has been in a good place. That said, with LO2 on the way it is going to change and be challenged once again! Hoping we can continue to find time to ourselves to enrich our relationship, even with 2kids under 2!

KIDS: my son is due in March, although this week there have been some complications that may bring him to us sooner. All I want is a healthy son, safe in my arms, and an easy transition into being a big sister for my daughter.

FAMILY: becoming a family of 4! Continuing to find a balance in how we relate to our extended families and spend time with them.

HOME: I'm hoping we will be putting our house on the market sometime in 2016. I've got a couple small house projects planned. I want to paint a couple rooms, some trim, and replace the kitchen countertops.

RELATIONSHIP: Things are great. I'm hoping we can go out once a month and stay connected now that we are parents. I would love it if we could see each other more on a daily basis. DH needs a new job so he can have better work life balance. He's actively looking.

KIDS: DD is such an easy going baby. I just want to enjoy this next year as much as I can. At the end of the year I will contact the fertility clinic and get the process started for another transfer in the first half of 2017.

FAMILY: I miss my family so much! I want to live closer to them again. Both my and DH's sisters have some drama and we try to stay out of it as much as possible and also offer support when it's wanted.

Home: Hoping to replace our fence and get some landscaping done this year, but nothing pressing. Hot water tank might go, which we're prepared for.

Relationship: DH and I are great right now, but obviously we'll be renegotiating a lot after our LO arrives next month. We've already worked through a lot of crazy shit together, and have had lots of talks about co-parenting, so I'm (mostly) hopeful. We love travelling, and already have two vacations lined up for 2016.

Kids: Our first is almost here! I'm excited, terrified, etc. Irrationally optimistic; I feel as prepared as I can be. Anticipating the transition to WOHM may be sticky.

Family: We're estranged from DH's family and unfortunately I don't see that changing this year. Worried there may be drama with them after LO arrives, but trying not to stress over "what ifs." My grandparents and my mom are already dead, so hopefully my dad isn't going anywhere anytime soon! Anticipating he'll be a pretty involved grandpa.

HOME: We will likely put our house on the market in March to move to a larger city. DH will be minutes from work but my commute will be an hour. Although I'm not looking forward to the commute, I am excited to live in a larger city!

RELATIONSHIP: Things could be interesting for us since our first baby will be born in March. I"m expecting some bumps in the road.

KIDS: DD1 will arrive in March! We are so thrilled!

I like this topic!

HOME: I like our house, and my husband talks constantly about moving. I'm not opposed to moving so much as I'm opposed to how much work it would be. In the next year I think we'll stay where we are, at least partly because B's best friend lives next door and his mom is on mat leave now so I'm really excited about having a mat leave buddy. I suspect in 2017 we'll be house hunting. We're going to let the house cleaner go while I'm home for the year so I'm going to convince my husband to let me buy a Roomba and hopefully that will help me feel better about the cat-hair-state of the carpets.

RELATIONSHIP: I'd like to put more focus on spending time together, but with a new baby arriving in a few months I'm not sure it will be possible. I'm going to at least try to work on being present when we're together even at home - less sitting in the same room playing on phones or "I'm watching Housewives you play video games", more "let's watch a movie together".

KIDS: I'm really really stressed about how adding a second child is going to affect B - he's a snuggly clingy mama's boy and I love every second of it. I've still got 10 weeks to go and the thought that I won't be able to put him to bed every night already brings tears to my eyes. I need to put some thought into how to best manage that transition and make him feel loved and important and not downgraded.

FAMILY: My family is so great and helpful and I need to put more focus on appreciating them. I tend to revert to sullen teenager when we're together, rolling my eyes and getting annoyed when they don't do things how I like them, and I need to focus on the fact that 9 times out of 10 they're in my house because they're doing me a favour and I should not be a brat about the fact that they used a spoon to stir their coffee and then left it on the counter instead of putting it in the sink (although seriously. WHY?)

I like how this has no "Career" category - which is one big unsolved category for me which I hoped to iron out big time in 2016! I think once that is resolved, everything may fall (back) into place. So fingers crossed.

Home: We just remodeled our kitchen / first floor last year so no big change is planned I think, other than the maintenence such as painting the trims outside (which we were supposed to have done last year). I am hoping to hang up more artwork and make our magazine-quality living + dining room into a cozy home. I really would love to hire a cleaning lady but husband said there is no budget :-(

Relationship: Hahaha. Personally I am hoping to be more patient with husband. Not sure if I can expect any change from him. We had a fight turned into a talk the other night and basically since I no longer pull in as much money as I used to, we have no budget for nothing, as in no budget for babysitter or date nights. Well, not like we ever had any anyway, but it is really not happening now.

Kids: I am hoping to be more patient, less screaming and yelling and more quality time. That is really my weakness and I really have to work on this. Other than that we always always have a lot of fun. I would love to involve him into art, theater and performance arts (which is a selfish thing to do because that's the things I like, haha), and figure out sports in summer. I'd like to get him to swimming classes in summer so we'll see. Oh, not to mention he will be attending a new school in fall, if we get in. So I hope all goes well too!

Family: Going to Hong Kong in the middle of the year to visit my mom, and hoping to somehow visit the in-laws (even though I really don't want to,I know DS would love it so I just have to suck it).

HOME: So much! Finishing the basement starting next month. Then will move the guest room and office down there (they are in one room now, which will be a nursery for #2). We are going to take out time furnishing the media room. Hopefully getting the outside of the house painted this summer.

RELATIONSHIP: Things are really good right now. We are trying to make sure we do a date night at least once a month this year.

KIDS: LO is a handful, getting in the threeager stage. but SO fun! We are TTC starting in March. LO loves the newborn next door and keeps saying she wants a little brother so I can't wait to see her as a big sister.

FAMILY: I don't see any drama. My side is great. We are going to the beach with the IL's. Not excited about a week with them, but the beach will help.

Home:
We own an older home, so the list of projects is never ending. We built garden beds last year, so they are ready to go this summer, and we have some other landscaping to do. We also need to paint the master bedroom to get it ready for sharing with a baby!

Relationship: my husband finishes residency in June. Hallelulijah. I'm looking forward to him having a predictable, easier schedule, and for us to be able to spend more time together as a family and couple.

Kids: well, hopefully there will be a new baby joining us in August. My daughter will also be going through the transition of leaving her in home daycare and beginning preschool in the fall, so I want to make sure we have a nice solid routine in place that she can rely on when things get crazy at the end of the summer.

Family: both our parents have some stuff going on related to mental health, and it's been challenging to navigate. My mothers closest sister is very ill with cancer and although nobody has given us timelines I doubt she will be alive for another year. This will be a ton loss, especially for my mom, and I'm worried about it.

HOME: We've been in this apartment for 1.5 years and will stay here until we leave the country. Since we rent, we don't really need anything, but I've been hunting for an armchair for a year, and still haven't found one. :silly:

RELATIONSHIP: We've been lucky, things have nearly always been good or better. It would be nice to have more date nights though.

KIDS: Are wonderful. DS will start the equivalent of kindergarten in the fall, so that will be a huge change for him. DD is really impressing us with her language acquisition these days. Her explosion was a bit late, but man has she caught up!

FAMILY: Also hoping to maintain the status quo, with no illnesses or surprises! My brother and his wife are expecting twins (!!!) this summer, so I'm hoping the pregnancy will go smoothly and mom and babies will be healthy.

HOME: we're slowly chipping away at renovations. Next up is the upstairs bathroom, which we'll hopefully start April/May this year.

RELATIONSHIP: we're in an OK place now but hardly have time for each other. I don't think we'll have more time at all this year with #3 arriving shortly. We've agreed to just tough it out until kid stuff settles down. I'm really looking forward to a kid free vacation in about a year.

KIDS: We are a week away from three under three. Kinda freaking out. My girls have so far been amazing but we're about to throw a big wrench in the mix.

FAMILY: I'm trying to not dwell on how much easier my life would be if we were closer to my family. DH's family is close, but they're all really busy and not really interested in helping us out much. My folks are coming for two weeks on Friday to help with the girls and newbie. I really wish we were closer.

HOME: More home maintenance, whatever that means. DH has a bigger Home Improvement budget this year. I would love to get new carpet but I think he has other plans. Garden etc.
RELATIONSHIP: Lots of fun vacation times locked up in the near future. Less pressure on DH as home/work load lightens. Hopefully this will translate into a nicer home atmosphere.

KIDS: Going through a transition: I will get LO ready in the morning and take her to kindergarten at my school, starting in July. I think LO will miss her Daddy because she will see even more of me and less of him than ever before.

Home: We moved into our new home in Aug 15 and have managed to decorate 4/7 rooms so far. Our kitchen renovation starts in two weeks. I'm hoping we will get the hall, stairs and landing done by the time the baby comes (April). The bathroom renovation will be next but we will have to wait until I'm back at work after maternity leave.

Relationship: We've had a really rough couple of years but are both committed to turning things around. I certainly feel as though we turned a corner recently. With #2 on the way, we might hit a bit of a road block initially, but I hope not.

Kids: E is becoming more and more independent and her personality is flourishing before our eyes now. I expect she will be potty trained this year and will start school nursery class in September. Her little sister is due in April - I'm hoping E will enjoy being a big sister.

Family: I'm hoping for no drama this year, no illness or anything. Business as usual please!

HOME: We currently live in a cozy 2br house. Would love to add a new bathroom and maybe even another bedroom if possible! My son comes into our bedroom at night, possibly because he's not thrilled about sleeping in the same room as his sister.

RELATIONSHIP: Hoping to have more time to spend with Mrs. Bee! So far, this hasn't happened yet. Gotta find a good babysitter we trust, and then we will start a weekly date night!

KIDS: Hoping to have a lot of 1:1 time with the kids this year, which I think is so key to developing that deep emotional bond. So far though, this hasn't happened. But despite this, the kids are really thriving - and I think they're happier than ever, and growing really close to each other.

FAMILY: I've been spending a ton of time with my mom, which I love because it's why we moved to be near my parents. But I haven't been able to spend as much time with my dad, which I really want to do. So, gonna make that a priority in the coming weeks.
