I use the Skin79 Gold formulation and I like it a lot. I currently have a tiny bit of a tan so I have shelved it for the moment, because I hate the mask look.

I use it kind of like a concealer, I dab it on my red spots and then I brush a powder over it. I didn't like the formulations of the US creams because they're just like tinted moisturizer, which never really did anything for me.

I ordered some Missha BB cream on Amazon, after talking to HLK208 about it, and reading the other thread, and then some reviews, and so far I LOVE it! I'm very fair, was NC 20 with my MAC Studio Fix Fluid, and the light beige No. 21 color by Missha works great. It doesn't make me look lighter or darker, and gives me great coverage without the heavy look of my previous Studio Fix. I just top it with a dab of concealer on any spots and under eyes, and a light dusting of Tarte's Smooth Operator translucent finishing powder. My skin is also breaking out much less since switching. I was hesitant to try BB creams since I hate tinted moisturizer, which is basically what the US formulations are and I want more coverage than that, but the Korean ones are fuller coverage, and I'm a convert.

I used to use bobbi brown's bb cream and loved it. I currently use DiorSnow and it's fine but liked bobbi brown much more. I thought it provided great coverage and really smoothed my complexion out. I haven't tried any of the Korean bb creams yet.

@Danizaur: yeah, I'm pretty sure it's mainly in there to attempt to lighten hyperpigmentation spots, not to lighten all over. I don't think it's strong enough for that.

I'm having a hard time deciding what/if to order! I've been checking all the ingredients and cross-referencing them in the EWG database. I can't find one that makes me happy. I had no idea I was so high-maintenance.

@MapleMoose: @Danizaur: so I just went to yesstyle.com (thanks for the rec!), and saw that the skin79 super gold has arbutin, which has "melanin-inhibiting properties". http://www.paulaschoice.com/cosmetic-ingredient-dictionary/definition/arbutin

@allison: I ordered from some one who had high reviews and no complaints about being fake. You could order from the Missha website too if you're worried about it. I know this is odd but I can tell fakes usually have a weird scent. The original has non-over powering baby powder scent.

I posted about the Korean bb cream before, it's changed my life! Lol. A slight exaggeration but I'm in love with it. I have already ordered it for my sisters and mom for Christmas. It does have a paler effect but with finishing powder and and bronzer, I don't see a difference. I used garnier bb cream before and I didn't feel like it gave me any coverage, more like a moisturizer.

I am really picky about heavy coverage foundation - I need all day, long wear, full coverage (MAC is what I've used for over 10 years) and the Misha bb cream provides that. I also ordered skin 79 bb cream which I heard/read has even better coverage.

"Many BB Cream carry the term “whitening,” which can sometimes have a very negative connotation in the western world. What it really does is that it evens your skintone by correcting blemishes like sun spots, acne scars and uneven patches."

@MapleMoose: I wondered that too. Whitening is often referred to as lightening dark spots. But people in Asia typically like the white skin look so I'm not sure really what they mean. I use mine and it doesn't make me look any paler.

I have a L'Oreal one. I'm not a big make up person so BB cream is a lot for me. But if I'm feeling in the mood I'll stick some on with a bit of mascara. For me it's the perfect amount of light coverage to even things out. Foundation looks really weird on me though so I've never worn it.

I have the CVS version of the Garnier BB cream. I put on my regular ponds lotion after I wash my face, then BB cream, then Bare Minerals Mineral Veil to get rid of a little of the shine/make it last longer. For me, I find that it's just enough to make me feel put together.

I am so meh about makeup and don't like the feel of heavy foundations so I use a BB cream and then finish with a bronzer or finishing powder (I like the mineral veil from bare minerals or ELF). It doesn't provide awesome coverage but it's enough for me!

If I want A LOT of coverage I use BB cream, revlon liquid foundation, finishing powder AND bronzer. I don't like using that much makeup though.

I have always been blessed with a good complexion, albeit a little uneven with large pores. I've been trying bb creams with the hope that I could forego foundation, but none of the bb creams I've tried provide quite enough coverage. Ideally, I'd like to use a bb cream and then a finishing powder. Am I not using the right bb cream, our am I just expecting too much from them? I thought maybe I'd try one of the Korean ones that people were posting about a few days ago, but I don't want to spend the money if I just have unrealistic expectations. Do you use foundation?
