I tip her back, and pour a cup of water over her head until it's rinsed out. It was a struggle, but I started encouraging her to "be a fish" so she makes her fish noise, and kicks her "tail" and I float her around a bit while I'm rinsing. It works for now!

I just pour giant cups of water on their head until all the shampoo is out. Their faces get soaked but they don't care.

My LO is 13 months and has never minded water on her head and face. As soon as she could sit up, we started just rinsing with a pitcher of water and we don't take particular care to avoid her face and she doesn't mind at all.

She loves the water in general though. She still only crawls but at spray parks she crawls right up to the spray fountains and puts her face right in them.

I lay him on his back in the tub and support his head/neck/shoulders with one hand and rub furiously with the other. DH is better at this because he's a lot stronger and has bigger hands! :)

@rattles: hahah.

My LO is 8 months old, and I I lay him onto his back in the tub and pour water over his hair with a cup. He enjoys it because he kicks and makes a huge mess splashing everywhere, and I make sure to do it fast and sit him back up to play.

@mrsjyw: we have one of those flexible pitchers and used that to rinse her hair. Then she started swim lessons a few months ago and learned how to do a back float. Now I just ask her to do a back float in the tub and so she's basically laying down with most of her hair in the water so it's easy to rinse and I use the pitcher to rinse the rest of the shampoo out of her hair close to her scalp.

I tell her to lean her head back and pour a couple of pitchers over her head so it doesn't go on her face. I rinse the back, underneath and sides of her hair first as she's not a fan of hair rinsing

We just pour cups of water over their heads, pause after 2-3 cups, then do a couple more. They don't mind it. Dd actually does it herself most of the time. :)

We dump a cup full of water on her head. She's finally learned to "look at the sky" when we do it so it doesn't get in her eyes, but sometimes she forgets. She still has pretty thin hair, so it really doesn't take long to rinse.

I put my hand on the top of her forehead. Tell her to lean her head back, which 99% she won't, and pour the water over her hair. I have to do it a couple times to get it all out.

DS has a ton of hair. He's had it since birth and we had no issues washing it when he was in an inclined infant tub. But since we moved to the big tub, we've gone through several phases of him hating the rinsing part of bath time. A month ago we switched to using the shower head instead of pouring cups of water and it's usually gone over well. He just closes his eyes and rubs them sometimes.

I think swim class has helped too, but it's still his least fave part of bath time.
