I also think BG tends to run a little big and wide, but DD is mostly in BG and she is average height, low end on weight. She is 10 months and still in BG 6-12 and Carter's 9m.

I will add though, that Carters shrinks in length a lot and BG never seems to shrink noticeably. So our BG gets longer wear and Carter's gets retired faster.

My LO is 18 months, 20 lbs, and I'm not sure how tall - around 30th percentile.

She's currently in mostly 6-12 month size. Her jeans in this size are still way too big at the waist. She wears some 3-6 month dresses as tops b/c the width is still fine. I still love the clothes, but do find I need to try them on her to be sure we've got the right size, so it can be a little hard to buy in advance and take advantage of sales.

DS can still fit into 12-18 month bottoms (length wise), but 12-18 month tops are getting too small. He's 13.5 months, 33ish inches, 24/5ish pounds. Just washed some 18-24 mths stuff! He's always been closer to the higher end of the sizing, (3 months, he was in 3-6 months, 9 months he was in 6-12, etc.)

Wide. Unfortunately, there is no "standard" sizing at baby gap. I bought 2 pairs of pants, same size and style, and one is 2" shorter than the other. Thanks Gap, helpful. LO is almost 19 months and has a pair of 6-12 pants that are still too long on her, while she has outgrown several 18m pants. My rule with Gap is I leave the tags on until LO actually wears the item; because you just can't go by the tag sizing.

Baby Gap runs large for us too. It's a better for fit for my nieces who are chunkier than LO. I still buy and wear BabyGap for LO though, cute outfits and the clothes don't shrink.

Interesting to see how different all the responses are! :)

My LO is petite (50% height, 10% weight) and she always wears a size smaller in Gap. She wore 6-12 months until she was almost 15 or 16 months old, and at 22 months is just now starting to outgrow some of her 12-18 months clothes. It's annoying b/c 18-24 month pants are too big in the waist, but 12-18 is too short.

lol! ok so many different answers. I went with 3-6 months, since he will be 3 months in June and it's for sure a summer outfit. Hopefully it works! It was like $7 on sale so not the end of the world :) Thanks all!

Funny... I was going to say it runs large. My LO is 60th percentile in height and can still wear the 6-12 mo onesies. She wears 9 and 12 mo Carter's onesies.

Gap and Old Navy run very, very large on my boy! These are the ones I try to hunt down at consignment stores since they are good quality and I'm cheap.

He will outgrow Carters well before he's outgrown Gap or Old Navy. He's just about to turn 2 and he is still well within the 18-24 month clothes from them, but is pretty much done with Carter's 24 months sizes. I expect that he will fit these clothes for at least another 6 months.

It looks like you're going to get a wide range of answers. :silly:

Gap and Joe Fresh fit my LO perfectly. I do find Joe Fresh fits a little smaller. He has worn the proper size his entire life. He's 22 months and can still fit into some 12-18 but primarily wears 18-24. 2T is too big for him.

ETA: He's consistently in the 25th-50th percentile.

Gap runs very wide, my LO is very slim and Gap does not fit her well at all. (specifically shirts.) She's 15 months, and I fits into 6-12 month dresses still, but has never fit into pants or onesies. She is long and skinny (petite)

So far this boy has a lot of Gap, Carters and Joe Fresh. Gap is my fave and what I've been buying mostly.

I'm wondering how Gap fits versus the other brands? Gap sizing is different (0-3 month), where Carters is just newborn then, 3 months, then 6 months, etc.

He is due in March and I want to get this cute summer one piece that is on sale at gap, but I'm wondering if he will be out of it 0-3 at 3 months (june)? Since it won't be warm enough here to wear before that most likely. Or does it run large? I know it totally depends on how big he is, but just wondering in general if Gap runs large or small or right on track in your experiences.

TIA!! :)
