I know! Why is standing up (and not even moving) better than sitting? Because it makes my back tired, that's why.

HAHA! I always wondered the same thing! My son used to love being rocked to sleep while standing, but the second I sit on a bouncy ball (while maintaining the same rocking motion) he'd have a fit. ARG!

My inlaws tried to trick LO all the time by sitting down. I told them she isn't stupid, she knows!

I was commenting on a mom once that looked amazing just 2 months after having the baby and she said she was able to get back in shape because the baby was colicky so she was always doing squats and lounges! It was a great motivation for me to do a few exercises while bouncing her to sleep rather than just standing there and swaying!

I always say the same thing. DD is 2 and she still likes being held while standing up only!

Yep! My baby is the same way. She no longer allows me to rock her while I'm sitting down. I have to stand up and bounce and sway w/ my hips. So not fair when I'm tired and just want to sit down!

I think we get dumber as we age- my theory is that babies are born geniuses, but as they begin to be able to communicate, their intelligence exponentially decreases, until we reach adulthood- then it's all over :P

... Between If I am sitting down holding him vs standing and holding vs bouncing on the yoga ball holding. His eyes are closed, it is dark, he is trying to go to sleep, but it's like he is saying "oh mom, you're comfortable? To spite you, I'm not, so stand up. And bouncing me with your arms is not going to work. You must bounce on the ball."
Positive side- my arms and quads have never looked better.
