@oskarsmommy: when my son was 12 months, he barely acknowledged me. NEVER seemed happy to see me. It was so odd and sad. He's 2.5 now and 100% normal and squeals with glee, but, yeah, he was not affectionate until he was about 2!!

@oskarsmommy:  LMAO "probably more happy to see my tits were home moreso then me" ahahahahahaha

My DS who is 14 mos usually smiles and crawls over to me. However, if he is "busy" or really into something he will just ignore me. He's definitely different than his sister was but then again they are different kids :silly:

@codeitall: this was my first. He would run/crawl to me smiling, so happy. And then immediately want to nurse. My baby isn’t as much of a boob man(in fact I am weaning him now - where as my first nurses until 2.5) so I am sure that has a lot to do with it. My first was probably more happy to see my tits were home moreso than me.

My 12mo drops everything and books over to me till I pick her up. Then she also has an opinion of where I need to take her. Then she remembers it is me and tries to pull my shirt down. We definitely have some weaning work to do before my necklines all die :silly:

I don't remember what my first did; but make no mistake she was a mommy's girl through and through haha.

Now my two stand by the gate and fight over who I pick up first :silly: But I don't think is a big deal if they ignore me either since 99% of the time they're super happy to see me.

My LO at that age wasn’t in a rush to tackle me when I would pick him up from daycare. He would smile at me, but continue playing with toys or his friends. I looked at it as we made a good choice in daycare since he was clearly very happy. Don’t get me wrong once I was there he would lose his cool if all of a sudden I was out if his line of sight.

I see the same differences between my 2nd and 1st. I think it has a lot do with LO1 was my whole world (and vice versa) when he was young. I did 90% of his care and gave him a lot of undivided attention. LO2 never got that. My husband takes a more equal part in his care, and my time is split between two kiddos. So he's glad to see me but it's not as intense. I think it's still a healthy (healthier maybe) bond.

I think this is a great indicator that you do have a strong bonded relationship - it’s not a big deal that you’re home because he feels safe and secure in the fact that he knew you would come home.

My kids were the same - my oldest ran to me, my youngest was basically like “oh cool, you’re here.” and then back to what he was doing.

how does your 12 month old (give or take) greet you when you get home from being gone all day? My first use to run to me - I remember saying I felt like a celebrity when I walked into the room with him. Oliver - he will smile and maybe come to me, but the second I pick him up he immediately starts pointing at where he wants me to take him. Like there is no real re-connection.. I am concerned we aren't bonded
