We just hit 8 weeks yesterday and had 3 consecutive nights of 5.5-6 hour stretches. 6 week growth spurt was hell for a week and it slowly has gotten better, back to our normal 3-4 1.5 hour naps and decent nighttime sleep... hang in there!!!

@MUI831: don't worry, it will pass!!! Week 8 was pure torture for us!!!! She was up every 2ish hours atnighy and naps were horrendous....she was fussy during the day and screaming during nursing sessions, I honestly thought it would never pass. Turns out she just went thru a major growth spurt/developmental milestones aka wonder week 8, but the day she turned 9 weeks I had my happy, content baby back who went back to sleeping 5-6 hours at night and napping during the day. They say weeks 6-8 are the toughest and that was the case for us....just remember it will pass and it is just a phase

Everything I have read said weeks 6-8 are the toughest, and my Ped said week 8 is usually the worst...My LO is 6 weeks today and I'm scared to death! Hopefully when week 8 is over, things will settle down!

Good luck!!!

I'm just curious to know what the sleeping habits are/were of your 8wo baby? DS used to be a dynamite sleeper. He started on his own schedule during the day where he was eating every 3-4 hours and napping in the meantime. He was also consistently give me between 5-6 hrs of sleep at night. He would go to bed sometime between 10 and 11 and wake up around 4 am to eat. Then he would immediately fall back asleep and wake up at 7, eat and go back to sleep until 9 or 10. I thought I had an easy baby.

Then the 6 week growth spurt happened and it's been hell ever since. I thought this would last a few days or a week tops and then we'd be back on his old schedule. Instead, he's eating every 2 hours and I only get about 3-4 hours of sleep tops from him at night. He will only nap for about 30-45 minutes unless I'm holding him. I can't even baby wear him b/c he hates that. I have to physically hold him and rub/pat his back for him to sleep.

I'm not worried about my supply as I've been pumping as well and usually getting between 3-4 oz at a time. I've also tried feeding him my ebf to see how much he's eating. He's been known to put down 5-6 oz before bed. I didn't think growth spurts lasted this long!!!

I'm exhausted both physically and mentally. Mostly, I'm just frustrated. I guess I'm wondering if anyone has gone through this as well and can tell me that things will get better soon.
