LO LOVES her food, too! She will literally cry tears if someone is eating something in front of her and she can't have it. She gobbles her food, shoves food in her mouth, moan and smacks her lips as she eats.

She's just 6 months and we've been doing BLW, so far she gets really excited about food, but mostly just plays with it... except for avocado, she LOVES avocado and gets super excited when that hits her tray.

@Honeybee: my lo always cries when she finishes her yogurt :) not a kid size, a normal adult size of yogurt that we give her for a snack.

@MungBean: hope your lo starts to love food too.... I do feel lucky!

She's 6.5 months old and is really difficult to feed. It takes me at least 30 minutes to get an ounce in her :( I usually have to sing, distract her with a toy, or make funny faces so that she won't notice that she's eating. I wish I had a great eater like your LO!

Bwahahaha, my kids are the same way! DD likes to sit on the counter while I'm making dinner and snack on whatever I'm making. Sometimes she clears her plate faster than I can cook and I end up having to give her two or three "regular" portions before she's full!

DS is 5.5 months and he actually cries when we're done feeding him. I make my own baby food, so the portions are bigger than a store bought baby food jar. I don't want to overfeed him, but the kid can put a whole container of sweet potatoes away and still cry for more!

If it is something she wants, she can't get it fast enough. She can just eat and eat for an hour.

@Baby Boy Mom: I'm imagining that sound in my head, so cute! Nothing distracts my LO from the food, lol.

Baby Boy loves food and makes this little begging sound until his face is stuffed! Picnics are a bit tricky though because he gets distracted...dogs, balls, sticks... :)

He devours it just like your LO. A friend's 15m old son was here this weekend and I think he ate 1/100 of what M ate. M loves his food!

My LO LOVES food. When she sees it, she wants it in her mouth that second. She'll whine and whimper until she gets it, and I have to quickly cut it up for her. She grabs it super fast and stuffs it in her mouth, and usually I can't keep up with her and cut it fast enough. She'll slow down after about 5 minutes, and finally I'll get to eat too.

I thought this was normal for all babies. Until we went to dinner with another baby around LO's age (she's 13 months, he just turned 12 months) and it was a picnic so we were on a blanket. When I brought LO's food out she lunges at me grabbing for it, DH had to grab her until I could cut it and she cried because it wasn't in her mouth right then.

Meanwhile, the other boy just sat there. His mom ate some of her own food, and he just sat there some more. Once in a while she popped some food in his mouth, and then she kept on eating.

This was soooooo weird to me! I could never ever get a bite in first, or I'm pretty sure my LO would take it right out of my mouth. And it's not like she's starving, she eats plenty during meals and gets snacks.

How does your LO react around food?
