I def could have had it later; but I wanted more time. With DD2, that was the only time my sister could throw it. I wasn't expecting DD2 till Jan so I thought it was plenty of time! You will be fine. Most newborns sleep a lot so whatever you don't get done can be taken care of later. But honestly all the preparing in the world and putting things away does not make you more ready. Babies need very little- food, a place to sleep, diapers, a few sleepers, and lots of love.
