I did not feel any movement until 23-24 weeks. When I did feel movement, it was thumps, not flutters,

With my first I consistently felt flutters around 16 weeks

This pregnancy I am 20 weeks and there have been no flutters. I had weird cramping around 17 weeks that I don't know if was baby movement or just my body cramping. Just recently I started to feel definitely kicking...baby is low and strong but it's not that frequent. Maybe 2-3 times a day. I thought I was supposed to feel movement earlier with the second pregnancy but that hasn't proven to be true for me (I'm much chubbier this pregnancy so maybe that's it)

With my first I felt my first 'kick' at 18 weeks. It was another 3+ weeks before they were consistent by any means. With my second it took even longer, but I had an extra 30 pounds of padding remaining from pregnancy #1 :(

I was probably around 4.5 months along, so... around 20 weeks? That's when I started to feel certain that the strange bubbly sensations were a baby and not just never-ending gas :) In the beginning, I remember it feeling more like a tickling, rather than a punch or kick.

I think the first time it's a lot harder to tell what's baby movement.

I thought I felt movement around 17/18 weeks, but wasn't sure. By 19 weeks I KNEW it was baby. Daily movement wasn't until about 22 weeks. Now at 28 weeks girlfriend rarely stops!

I remember feeling LO definitely between 19 and 20 weeks. We were on a trip then and DH felt her, too, so it sticks out in my mind very clearly. I may have felt her a little bit before that but was never too sure. You'll feel that little one soon, I just know it!!

I'm pretty sure I felt it once or twice between 18-20 weeks, but it's my 1st and I have an anterior placenta so I wasn't worried that I wasn't really feeling anything. Plus I barely pay attention when I'm at work the whole day! I'm 21 weeks now and def feel her kick a few times a day!

I also had an anterior placenta the first time around. I felt one big kick, no passing it off as anything else, at 17 weeks, and then nothing for another week or two. I felt a lot more movement starting around 20 weeks, but I never felt as much as I would have liked, because the placenta was blocking a lot of it.

@FaithFertility: Girl, I TOTALLY hear you. Every morning I'm asking my husband "I mean, this is a bump, right? It's getting bigger, right?" (It's completely tiny, but it grows a bunch during the day--you know how it goes.) But it really is a nerve-wracking time! When is your anatomy scan? I bet that will help a lot. :)

I'm feeling a lot better, too--still super exhausted, but that's because of some traveling I've been doing and the fact that I just started a new job. If it weren't for all of that, maybe I'd be feeling some of that second-tri energy burst! Appetite is back, though, and I don't feel totally gross all day. So I call that a win!

I felt the first definite kicks sometime during my 18th week, so I voted 19-20. I felt them randomly (some days not at all) after that for the next week or two. I think by 21-22 weeks I was feeling something every day.

I totally understand being nervous! That part of the 2nd trimester was so hard for me! I actually ended up making an appointment one day to listen to the heartbeat just to make sure...felt the first kick later that day!

@FaithFertility: Yeah, it's not an issue at all. It definitely acted as a pillow though because every so often, Xander would kick me in the side and I could tell the placenta wasn't cushioning it because those kicks were so much more intense! As far as sleep on the back - I don't know. I slept on my back probably until around 7 months before I just got too uncomfortable to keep doing it. Not sure the placenta affected anything or not.

@Adira: hmmmmm something to consider I guess, I read it really is no issue other then it acts as a pillow so you really don't fell much, and makes sleeping on back hard?!?! True?

@FaithFertility: When I had the NT Scan at 12 weeks, that's when they first saw that it was anterior and then it was confirmed at 19 weeks for the anatomy scan.

Though this time around, I was told at the NT scan that I had an anterior placenta, but at my 19 week anatomy scan, she confirmed it was really posterior!
