@autumnlove: Oooh that's interesting! I wish our hospital had that option but it's not a very high-tech one (unfortunately. small town struggles!) so I doubt that's a possibility. :(

27ish weeks for my first. But my hospital did something new for my second and they determined that I had GD from a blood panel at my 6-7 week appointment. It was based on my A1C numbers.

Oh okay! So it seems that there is a wide range (well, 24 - 28 weeks) illustrated thus far so I'm guessing it's not one of those things that NEEDS to be done by a certain point. That makes sense. Maybe she will bring it up at the 26 week appointment and we can have that discussion then!

I had mine at 28 weeks. My midwife booked it for me at my 26 week appointment, I believe.

I'm just curious... how far along were you for your gestational diabetes test? I thought it was typical to have it around 26-28 weeks, yes? I ask because my next appt. is at 26 weeks and the midwife didn't mention anything about it.

That's fine by me as I never had with one my last pregnancy (with a homebirth midwife) and would actually like to avoid it for this pregnancy, but this is a new midwife/OB practice for me and I thought they did them.
