When my babies were originally born the pedi was 15 minutes away. Now we live in a more rural area and the pedi is a 45-minute drive. They have a 24-hour nurse line, though, and phone/video appointments, so basically we only go for well checks and call first on anything else. Generally a call or video appt for sickness comes w/ home care instructions, and we only go in if it gets worse. It's pretty normal for us to drive that far to do anything.
