He is worn out at the end, but he is also running in circles the whole time!</p> <p>We put him in the backpack for longer hikes. They are usually rated to about 45lbs. Our main issue with it is that he wants to get out. LO is 2 now and sometimes I still have to pick her up to keep up with the group but she's mostly happy to walk the whole time. My 19 month old happily hikes 2+ miles (although keeping her moving in the right direction can be a challenge).
