The gymnastics one threw me because we've only been doing classes for a few months, but her teacher is really nice and I know my kid is the troublemaker, and the teacher goes out of her way to help with that. We do the daycare workers. Last year we gave the cleaners an extra $75 but this year I'm thinking that seems ridiculous when they run their own business and all our money already goes to them - that's a full extra cleaning, so I might cut it down this year. It's adds up but I do feel like it's the right thing to do. I was planning on a small gift in addition to the class gift for my daughters part time preschool teachers. Done. </p> <p>Then I saw a FB thread about gifts for gymnastics or dance teachers, and our garbage man left a holiday card with his name, and I wonder about someone like the mail man? Plus I remembered we should give our monthly cleaning lady something extra... I don't know where the lines between stingy, normal, generous, and excessive, are. </p> <p>Where do you fall? What seems normal to you? </p>
