For my newborn pics, I just call her within a day or so of baby being born, and then we set up our time then, she aims to do the newborn shoot within 10 days of the birth. One thing with newborn pics is, at least with my photog, it's not like a wedding where they book you on a fixed date many months out. Mine will now put me on her calendar for late June/early July, and then a month before my due date check in and book two or three dates. We will end up using the one that works best based on when baby arrives.
