I got VERY busy the months before LO turned one (which is next weekend!) becuase DH had surgery and I had surgeryand they were both very long recovery periods. Plus it was easier to do it when she was younger and not moving around as much and grabbing everything. </p> <p>I'm pretty much everything DIY though so there's no need to order a cake or table and chairs. It was way more fun than I thought, especially with Pinterest. We had family, friends and coworkers take care of cupcakes and tables so I'm not sure but probably 2 weeks to a month would be good. The favors/centerpieces took awhile because I couldn't decide. My reasoning is that she'll have a summer birthday and if I go with some kind of summer theme then things will be cheaper to buy this year because I can buy them on clearance instead of having to pay full price next year.
