In traffic about 15 minutes. </p> <p>My brother and his fiance switched hospitals about 2 months before she gave birth. They went from a hospital that was 15 minutes away to about 30 minutes away. </p> <p>There is a hospital that allows water births but it's about 45 minutes away. I wonder how common it is to go to a hospital that far away. We had to choose between that one and another one that is 20 minutes away. All other things ended up being pretty much equal, so I let my husband decide since he will be doing all of the driving. Add in parking and walking into the hospital, you can add another 5 minutes or so. We have a hospital about 5 minutes away but from the research we've done so far, we felt more comfortable with the further doctor and hospital and what they offer. I'm a bit worried but most people I know were about 20-30 minutes from their hospital and they've all said it's just fine. In traffic, because the hospital is in the city, it would probably take us longer to get there than the birth center. </p>
