But, I gained 3 pounds in the first 10 weeks and then hadn't gained anything up until 16.5 weeks and I was eating plenty! I have since gained another pound and am not worrying about it anymore. My doctor was totally fine with my weight gain by the way - however she offered to see me and I took her up on the offer. When in doubt, call. Its not worth the risk, It also doesnt sound like you are being excessive . Its not like you are calling and saying "I need an u/s now bc I think something is wrong for no reason." You had legitmate reasons for calling. One of the nurses (not my actual OB) actually responds sometimes after consultation with the OB. Once because a neighbor's dog nipped my leg (which resulted in me getting a Tdap shot). A second time, I e-mailed because I was looking for OK meds to take while I had a cold. Another time because I was looking for the results of our downs screening. A fourth time I e-mailed because I was concerned about my lack of weight gain (which prompted a call by a nurse and a brief visit with the OB). I feel like I'm becoming a needy/crazy patient!!</p> <p>Did you call your OB/midwife between visits? How frequently? </p>
