@autumnlove: He went 1.5 days last week! It just feels *different* since I'm in my office now and can't run off to get him early!

@mediagirl: I know, right? I can sneak out another door, but then, risk more people seeing me : ) Yeah, her husband is a partner in a big law firm....she totally does not need to work....has always had a nanny (and even now her kids are in high school has a nanny....who does grocery shopping, cooking, dog walking and errands). Sheesh.

OK I called - she was SO apologetic for not calling back right away! When she got my text she checked in right away with Tyler's teachers -- but then she got side tracked with the party. He was drinking all of his milk, took a nap (at least one!) and wore his costume for a bit for the party. She said he was having a great day. I feel a lot better.

@mediagirl: This is silly, but the female ra ra woman power working mom has the office next to me so I'm paranoid she's going to think I'm weak. Of course, she always had a nanny and never had to race off to get her kids....

@winniebee: GIRL it is your first full day back....don't even worry about it. Let them know you just want to make sure everything is okay and get out of there early. I did that a few days my first week back. :)

@mediagirl: @andrea: Thye didn't, but the director texted me in the past so I thought that's what she preferred. If it was pressing, I would of course call.

I feel like they are just busy today. I don't know. I'm just a nervous nilly.

Oops, I never call just to check up. However, on DD's first day, they called me because she wouldn't eat so I went and got her. And then after that, she's been fine.

Not sure about texting, though. If I want to speak to someone at daycare, I always call. Did they say anything about preferred modes of communication?

I couldn't call that first week, I knew if I did, I would cry. I have only called for reasons unrelated to how she is doing - when she had her bottle, if she needs anything, etc.

If you texted her and she is a texter, I would expect a text back. I think I would suggest calling. I know that might be hard for you, though. MAN I wish my daycare texted!!

It's my first week back at work and of course I'm a nervous mom. Today is my son's first "real" day at daycare. I haven't heard anything from them....but we didn't set parameters for if they would email/text/call. I guess when I signed him up for this daycare I didn't know I would want updates (not having a kid, then!) Last week when he was at a trial run, I texted the director and she texted me right back.

I texted the director about an hour ago for an update and haven't heard back! I mean, I know they would call if something was wrong....and today is the Halloween party so I'm sure they are busy....but I'm a little annoyed that she hasn't gotten back to me. Am I just being a neurotic new mom? Would you be annoyed?
