Probably not the best way, but when LO doesn't want to eat, I make her laugh and then shove the spoon in her mouth. LOL. I should stop doing that.

@banana: Haha I lol'd!

Charlie likes to "help" though, so he is always trying to help me open the fridge or turn off a light switch.

My LO is only 2 so it's super easy to trick him. The one I use all the time is that I pretend I can't open something or turn on something even though I use ALLLLL my strength, like a light switch or something. Works every time.

@mrbee: that trick just about always works on my LO. it will be a sad day when that doesn't work anymore because we can get her to do most things with that trick. =(

Lol, LO is young so she's easy to trick. I only wish I could trick her into not trying to take my glasses off my face.

I thought I was pretty good, but I have learned a lot from Mrs. Bee! Also, a commenter on the blog recommended the book "How to con your kid" and that taught me a lot too:

http://www.amazon.com/How-Your-Kid-David-Borgenicht/dp/1594740739

The newest thing Bee taught me: when Charlie doesn't want to wear his sleep sack at night, then I ask him: "Whose sleep sack is that... is it Daddy's sleep sack? Is it Mommy's sleep sack? Is it Olive's?"

He gets possessive and says, "No, it's Charlie's sleep sack!" And then he forgets he doesn't want to wear it. It's worked a few times this week! Probably not ideal to reinforce his possessiveness like that, but I'll worry about that when he's feeling and sleeping a bit better!

How good are you at tricking your LO? Do you have any techniques to share on how to trick your LO?
