We have been confronting mean vs. nice behavior in regards to race, disabilities, gender identity, and sexual orientation. We also talked about consent and I have been making a conscious effort to make sure she consents to all touching (i.e. she is allowed to decline a hug/ kiss from parents and grandparents and ask for space/ alone time. Mommy and Daddy defend her choices from well meaning grandparents.) Obviously this does not overshadow the bad, but helpful perspective! </p>
