@ineebee: My weight and sugars stabilised, and my hair growth (er, chinny chin chin) virtually stopped. It was incredible. Such a nice reprieve. It's back and worse than ever now.

I always hoped that pregnancy would 'reset' things, and we'd get lucky second time around with conceiving. Unfortunately, two miscarriages & 14 months later, we're still barren when it comes to #2. :(

Honestly, other than struggling with losing weight and having wicked acne, my PCOS doesn't interfere at all. My cycles came back at 2 months pp, and were every 30 days like clockwork for over a year. We were charting to avoid pregnancy, and got a surprise BFP just after Christmas this year.

After my twins were born I went on BC and everything seemed normal too me. Not too much acne, some dark hairs still but periods were regulated by BC. I got off the pill so we could see how my clue would be off medication and I got pregnant the first time we had unprotected sex. After she was born everything was great for 2.5 years then all of my PCOS troubles started again. I am currently on metformin to help manage it.

@ineebee: I had bad acne including cysts. I managed to clear it all with diet before pregnancy, but then the hormones kicked in and my skin got all kinds of jacked up, haha! So, I'm back to square one.

@pui: I hope so, too! I'll be in your exact situation in 7 months!

@TheReelDeal: Did you have acne before pregnancy? Did it get better during pregnancy and then worse again? My acne was pretty bad before pregnancy then cleared up during. It's so nice to only use lotion on my face, and I'm hoping that keeps up...

@jaguar: Yikes! I'm curious, what symptoms got way better during pregnancy for you?

@ladybee: I'm the same! I had (mostly) no idea about my PCOS while on BC until we started TTC. Sucks that the pill hasn't been regulating your periods and I hope the Metformin works for you!

When on BC prior to trying I had no idea that I had PCOS. When pregnant everything was awesome. Now that I've had my son (who's 15months) my symptoms are out of control even on BC. My cystic acne is back, my random black hairs are multiplying and growing, I'm sweating like a man, and my cycles are irregular even on the pill.

I made an appointment with a endro for March to see if I'd benefit from metformin.

My PCOS got way better while pregnant. Then went a bit nuts post partum, and is back to its evil self now, 2 years later. :(

Right now, 7 weeks PP, my acne is awful and I can tell my hormones are having a hard time adjusting. I'm hoping going back to strict paleo will help settle things. After talking it over with my doc, I'm on a mostly progesterone birth control pill.

I don't really know yet... DD is only 5 months old. I am EBF and I haven't gotten a period back yet... We are NTNP now but I doubt I'll get pregnant before at least seeing one period. I really hope getting pregnant is easier this time around.

@MrsBrewer: We're planning on NTNP after this one is born, too. If we have an oops, then yay! But if nothing happens after a certain amount of time, we're probably gonna go back to the RE for our frozen embryo.

@wheres_c: That's awesome to hear! I'm hoping the same will happen for me!

I'm curious about this as well. My acne has gone away completely not that I'm pregnant. Before with my PCOS, it was HORRIBLE!

We are planning on not preventing at all after this LO#1 is born, just because I was only able to ovulate on my own with the help of Clomid. So now, we are hoping for a surprise #2 when the time comes :-)

I almost forgot - I used to get these tiny benign cysts near my earlobes every few months. My doctor said it's hereditary and might be related to hormones. Ever since my pregnancy, I haven't had any!

I'm not KU yet, but I took progesterone the last few months and I got AWFUL acne. It would settle down after TOM and almost go away, but now (even though I'm not on supplements this month) one of the same awful huge pimples is back this month in the TWW.

I would love for this to go away!

Whether it's a change in symptoms or if you conceived your second LO with no problems, or whatever else, I'm curious - how has your PCOS changed since pregnancy or giving birth to your first LO?

I'm pregnant with my first, and I've noticed that my acne has subsided! It actually began once I started on my IVF meds. My mom had PCOS and she took 6 years to conceive my older brother, and I was an oops when my brother was 10 months!
