Probably a 6-7. I eat out too much but when we eat at home I cook mostly from scratch. I drink more than I should but not pop. I'm not much of a sugar person.

Awesome. 8-9. It would have been 10 but we still eat pizza once a week ,and we go out to eat on weekends. I make pre-packaged dumplings for a quick Saturday lunch, and I like eating smoked salmon (assuming that is a kind of processed meat?) and would have that for lunch (with salad) 1-2 times a week.

Other than that, we cook mostly at home, shop organic, and we eat a lot of veggies/leafy greens, fruits and protein, use honey instead of sugar, brown rice instead of white, coconut/olive oil instead of butter. I usually make sauces and marinates from scratch. We only drink water most of the time. I drink a lot of green tea over the week and a bit of coffee over the weekends. DS only drinks water and milk (he won't drink anything other than these for some reason)

Before I had a kid we were maybe 4. We do cook during the week, but I snacked pop tarts and drank at least 1 can of coke a day. For lunch I ate frozen TV meals, and we ate out way too much. Even though we cook, we were such newbies, we sheepishly add whatever the recipe requires - eg. 1 stick of butter here and there, all the time. And we never cook veggies. Fruits and veggies get rotten in the fridge most of the time.

Hmm compared to the rest of America probably an 8-9.. But compared to what I think is truly healthy I really think I'm more like a 6.

We Don't drink soda and we rarely eat artificial/processed stuff. When we are at home we eat whole nutritious food for the most part. It helps that we are Korean-American- I find that traditional ethnic food is so much healthier than the American diet! So just by eating a lot of traditional Korean meals (brown rice, soups, fermented stuff, seaweed, roots/random veggies) I feel like I'm being healthy. But I do have Costco chicken nuggets here and there, we order pizza, we eat junk at church/social functions.. and we don't like to waste food so if there's junk in the house that someone else brought over we will eat it! I love cookies/sweets too so I indulge in sweets/processed sugar fairly often.

Possibly an 8. I try to be a good example for my kids, and we eat healthy meals together. With DH on the Keto diet and myself leaning towards low carbs, our plates are full of veggies and protein. Since the kids do have food allergies, I tend to stick with their dietary restrictions as well so that we eat one big shared meal as a family. After the kids go down you can find me sneaking something totally unhealthy though.

@littlejoy: I've been surprised that it's been so "easy", because typically any new diet change has me really jonesing for everything bad the first week or two until the cravings pass. But this time, I just feel better and more energetic. But also, last weekend was kind of a health rock bottom for me--I had strep twice in a row, then got diagnosed with the autoimmune disease, and then broke out in a horrible full body rash that now has been diagnosed as pityriasis rosea--it's awful. Like, beyond awful. So I had to make some changes.

@Anagram: Wow! I'm glad to hear it's going so well for you. I've heard the first week is a beast. It sounds like maybe your body was just really needing those nourishing foods. Good luck!!!

Typically, I would give myself a 4ish. I know how to eat healthy, and I'm really careful about feeding my kiddos healthy foods (minimally processed, no added sugars or weird ingredients) as much as possible. But then I get tired/lazy and give myself different things as "treats" that end up being daily and it ends up being bad.

But I just started Whole30 this week to see if it helps my newly diagnosed autoimmune disease, so just this week, I'd say I'm a 9-10. No added sugars, no grains, no legumes. no additives or preservatives, low on starchy vegetables, high on leafy/cruciferous veg and high on grass fed meats and organic fruits. I actually feel great, even though I'm in the first week. None of the withdrawal/flu like symptoms some people experience, but probably that's because my health was at a rock-bottom low last week.

7 - I try to eat healthy for the most part but with my inlaws here for 10 days we ate a bunch of red meat and pork and not that many salads. I am not used to eating meat that frequently. Now I am trying to cleanse myself with lots of salads. My rule is everything is OK in moderation.

9 ish? We basically eat as if we're doing Whole30 during the week (so no grains, sugar, dairy, etc) and splurge on the weekend. We usually have wine 1-2x a week and then eat out 1-2x a week also.

Right now I'd say I'm probably a 7. I used to be a 2 probably! But I've been doing low carb since October which has cut out a ton of sugar from my diet and I'm eating a lot more healthy meats and vegetables, so I feel like my diet is pretty good these days.

7 or 8 ... we are vegan, so that naturally means a good bit of whole foods, but it's also SUPER easy to fall into the trap of pasta, crackers, and snacks. When I'm not pregnant, I'm an 8 or 9 ... pregnant me is like a 3, because all I eat is bagels, cookies and pasta. :)

We think LO has a soy allergy, so this means a lot of meals are made at home. That really helps. Kids in general help, I think.

9. I slip occasionally and eat processed snacks, but the vast majority of my food is things I can identify each ingredient.

I don't think sugar is bad, though, so I still eat it when I want to.

I think it's all relative? I would say compared to the average North American, probably an 8. I don't drink juice/soda and I would say that 90% of our meals are made at home and not processed. Ice cream, wine/beer and baked goods are my weaknesses but i believe in moderation. :)

I'd probably say a 7. I've been a vegetarian for 9 years and my husband is a vegan, so I eat lots of vegan meals as well. We generally eat healthy, but I do like sweets so I'm not sure I'd rate my diet higher than a 7 because of that.

Not great, but I try. I try not to eat too many sweets, I don't typically eat chips, I make healthy meals for breakfast and dinner. I have cut back on my diet soda habit. I drink a lot of beer/wine though so that probably offsets the whole eating healthy thing with all the extra calories...and then when I drink I like to eat. :)

If you had to rate your eating habits what would you rate them at? 1 being terrible and 10 being great. Just for fun! :)

I would have given myself a 3 several years back, before having kids. And over the last few years it has gotten better and better. I would say right now I'm at a 7 or 8.
