We never really used our monitor because our house is so small (so no advice here). But good luck tonight! B is getting to be a big boy - his own room!

We don't have the volume on. I just like to use it for when the kids get up. Also, we are right across the hall, so if they are screaming or crying, I can hear them.

I keep it on the lowest setting. I can hear my kids without the monitor.
I use the monitor to check to see if I need to go to them when they make noise.

Wow, this is really eye opening. I keep it to the highest setting. No wonder I am barely sleeping! I hear EVERYTHING he does and then I get anxious and watch the monitor and can't fall back asleep. Tonight I'm trying it on a lower setting!

When we first transitioned him into his own room , we kept it up pretty high. But once we got comfortable with him in there, it got turned way down. It's just a tad higher than the lowest setting. His room is close and I could turn it off, but every once and a while I sleep super deep and don't wake right away when he's crying. And then I just feel bad.

Lowest or even off. Her room is really close to ours and I"m a light sleeper so sometimes I am just using it to confirm that I"m definitely hearing here.

I keep at the lowest setting and still have no problem hearing him. The only time I turn it up is if I'm cooking or showering where I need to hear it over other noise...

One bar on the Motorola. If we're awake and watching tv or something we'll turn the noise off because we can hear her easily if she cries. If I leave the volume on it's just while noise in my ear!. I just peek at her once in a while on the video screen and turn the volume on when we go to bed.

We have the V-Tech audio monitor and we have the sensitivity down to 3 and I sleep with the volume on 1. It still picks up the background white noise all the time! If we're in the living room watching something, the volume gets turned up to 2 or 3.

About halfway up. We are only a room away, so I hear her cry regardless, but I don't need to hear her little grunts all night! :) We also have a crappy audio monitor, so if it's turned all the way up the static is super loud.

We keep it at the lowest. I don't hear him stir and fuss, but I will hear him full on cry. I wait for te full on cry before going to "save" him anyways.

We plan to move B to his crib tonight. I always hear that people sleep better after the transition because they aren't constantly hearing/checking on LO. Don't you still hear all the noises through the monitor though? Or do you keep the volume low?
